Description

The Enterprise Risk Management – Architecture team (ERM Architecture) is part of the Enterprise Risk Management department, within the wider Integrated Risk (IR) domain of the Chief Risk Office (CRO) function.

The mission of Integrated Risk is to provide risk identification, aggregation and insight capabilities at Group level across the various risk domains. The department uses these capabilities to support oversight of risk governance, policies, frameworks and tooling, and to steer group-wide model and implementation activities across locations.

The Enterprise Risk Management department is responsible for setting the standard for ING’s enterprise-wide risk management framework and internal control system development, maintenance and oversight. In addition, the ERM department is responsible for the governance, standards, tools and oversight of regulatory changes affecting Risk policies, and acts as the business functional owner for GRC tooling architecture development, including Policy House and iRisk/IBM OpenPages, in cooperation with COO Risk and CTO.

Job description

As a Senior ERM Architecture Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing a standardised, consistent way of working across the Group through the development, implementation and maintenance of standardised GRC tooling. You will do this with a focus on cross-functional alignment across global risk domains and the matrix organisation, with the aim of strengthening overall governance.

  • Interacting with internal stakeholders, including the first and second lines of defence globally and bank-wide, as well as external stakeholders such as vendors and industry peers.

Specific tasks:

  • Own specific modules of GRC tooling, including responsibility for the design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring and change management of the tool, such as iRisk, PLM or RCM.

  • Align the implementation of GRC tooling across all relevant risk domains and entities to achieve a consistent approach to managing risks and meeting ING’s ambition for efficient, transparent and consistent risk management processes.

  • Ensure alignment and consistency across all underlying tooling and satellite solutions linked to the GRC tool.

  • Continuously review and identify improvements to ensure that GRC tooling remains fit for purpose and aligned with internal and external expectations.

Specific knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Economics, Finance, Law or Computer Science.

  • More than eight years of banking experience in risk management, IT architecture or business analysis.

  • Strong interest in risk management and the latest technology trends that support risk management processes.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills, capable of managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify dependencies and implications across various solutions and advise on optimal outcomes, keeping long-term objectives, sustainability and efficiency in mind.

  • Able to work independently while also being a collaborative team player, with a willingness to continuously learn and adapt in a fast-evolving regulatory environment.

  • Clear understanding of ING’s governance model and risk management tooling architecture landscape.
