Maintenance Technician_Utilities

To ensure the optimal operation of building installations, equipment, and utility systems by performing operation, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring that the technical infrastructure operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Key responsibilities and activities include, but are not limited to:  

Project Phase

·       Assists with the assembly, installation, and commissioning of building utility systems and infrastructure-related equipment.

·       Assists in the inspection, acceptance, and testing of new or upgraded installations within the assigned area of responsibility.

·       Collaborates with suppliers and contractors involved in projects for the modernization or expansion of the technical infrastructure.

Operation Phase

• Ensures the optimal operation of building installations and utility systems (electrical installations, HVAC systems, plumbing, heating systems, compressed air systems, lighting, etc.).
• Performs the activities included in the preventive maintenance plan for installations and equipment under the responsibility of the Facilities Department.
• Identifies and repairs faults affecting building installations and equipment.
• Analyzes the root causes of equipment failures and proposes technical measures to prevent recurrence.
• Participates in both planned and unplanned maintenance interventions on building installations and utility systems.
• Works closely with the Facilities Manager, Facilities Engineer, and other team members to improve maintenance plans and increase equipment reliability.
• Monitors inventory levels and requirements for spare parts, consumables, and materials used in maintenance activities.
• Completes and submits maintenance records, intervention reports, and documentation of completed activities.
• Participates in the implementation of continuous improvement projects related to building installations and utility systems.
• Provides technical support for preventive and corrective maintenance activities related to the technical infrastructure.
• Operates lifting equipment, forklifts, and other technical equipment required to perform assigned duties, in accordance with applicable authorizations and safety procedures.
• Ensures compliance with occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and fire prevention and protection requirements while performing maintenance activities.
• Immediately reports any non-conformity, defect, or situation that may affect the safe operation of installations or the integrity of the building.

Functional and technical competencies 

Technical secondary education (technical high school or vocational school) in electromechanics, electrical engineering, electrotechnics, mechanics, or a related technical field.

Qualification as an Electromechanical Technician, Electrician, Electrotechnician, or an equivalent technical specialization.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position involving the maintenance of building installations and utility systems in an industrial or commercial environment.

Knowledge of low-voltage electrical installations, mechanical systems, plumbing, heating systems, and HVAC systems.

Ability to identify, diagnose, and repair faults in technical installations and equipment.

Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, as well as technical documentation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental protection, and fire prevention and protection requirements.

ANRE authorization (or an equivalent nationally recognized license) to perform work on low-voltage electrical installations
