Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Supply Chain Planning Specialist. This position will be located at our Space sector in Chandler AZ.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Launch Vehicles, Launch and Exploration Division, and Production Planning.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and develop material strategies to meet operational goals.
  • Assess supply resources, prioritize demand requirements, and plan inventory, distribution, material, and rough-cut capacity for raw materials.
  • Serve as the primary focal point for a cross-functional team, providing leadership, guidance, and coordination to ensure effective supply chain execution.
  • Engage in long-term capacity and resource planning, including product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management, and product-line transitions.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex supply/demand requirements to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Plan and manage inventory levels based on Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements, creating or reducing supply requirements as needed.
  • Develop and execute critical procurement strategies by conducting in-depth lead time analyses and identifying critical paths.
  • Apply advanced analytical techniques to evaluate and refine supply chain workflows, addressing inefficiencies and mitigating risks.
  • Create and release requisitions, review non-standard part requirements, and support new product scheduling while phasing out obsolete lines.

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Has completed their degree Bachelor’s from an accredited institution
  • Having majored in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Economics or similar major.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments, contributing to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and achieving shared goals
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
  • Exposure to/or coursework in material management, preferably related to defense or aerospace environments.
  • Familiarity with basic program management concepts and interest in supporting problem resolution and “Return to Green” activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, sorting/filtering, basic data analysis); exposure to or interest in learning Deltek Costpoint Materials Module.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down issues and contribute to practical solutions.
  • Basic understanding of procurement, manufacturing, or purchasing processes through coursework, internships, or prior work experience.
  • Awareness of forecasting, planning, or scheduling concepts and interest in learning how they support operational execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with guidance, prioritize assigned tasks, and maintain strong attention to detail.

Salary Range:

$ 54,400 to $81,600

Primary Level Salary Range: $54,400.00 - $81,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
