Marsh is seeking candidates to join our Marsh Risk business based in the Mumbai office. This is a hybrid role that requires working in the office at least three days a week.

Senior Director – Project Management (Placement) Grade H

What can you expect?

The Global Program Manager (GPM) in Placement is a strategic leadership position in support of the global value stream. GPM assists the Global Value Stream leader (VSL) in managing and coordinating strategic initiatives, managing financial objectives and KPIs and cross-functional projects. This role acts as a key liaison between the VSL and various departments, ensuring smooth execution, efficient workflow, and timely delivery of departmental priorities.

We will count on you for

• Strategy and Planning:
  Provide thought leadership in curating target state and coming up with a sound strategy to deliver results. Partner with global teams to craft detailed plans in support of global strategy.
• Program Execution:
  Support the planning, tracking, and implementation of strategic initiatives and operational projects led by the VSL. Oversee execution team(s) comprising of project managers, business analysts, product owners/ managers.
• Communication Facilitation:
  Serve as a liaison between the VSL and senior leadership, department heads, and external partners to facilitate clear and timely communication.
• Reporting and Documentation:
  Prepare presentations, reports, and operational summaries for the VSL and executive team to support decision-making.
• Process Improvement:
  Help identify operational inefficiencies and assist in developing and implementing process improvements.
• Data Analysis and Metrics Tracking:
  Collect and analyze operational data to monitor performance against goals and provide insights to the VSL.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Work closely with various teams to ensure smooth execution of VSL directives and company-wide initiatives.
• Aligning with business stakeholders and the placement strategy
• Coordinating technology deliverables
• Aligning Capex and KPI outcomes with regional value stream leaders and global stakeholders
• Supporting effective change management
• Guiding weekly reporting and strategic priorities
• Demonstrating excellent communication capability
• Driving the execution of OPEX / Falcon initiatives and delivering the benefits.
• Shaping and embedding Operating model, driving improved client and colleague experience.
• Shaping and delivering Transformation initiatives.
• Embedding controls, and risk mitigations.
• Enabling robust governance, metrics tracking, and reporting.
• Managing complexity and navigating matrix structures while ensuring accurate delivery
• Leading large, multi-year transformation and change initiatives
• Working across multiple time zones including Asia Pacific, US, and Canada
• Communicating effectively across non-English-speaking countries
• Navigating complex initiatives within risk management environments

What you need to have: 

• Minimum Graduation

• 15+ years of experience in operational oversight, strategy and planning, consulting roles in a large global organization
• A balanced background across insurance domain knowledge and broader financial services experience
• Experience supporting senior executives
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Proven record of successful delivery of end-to-end transformation/complex / global projects, through all stages of project lifecycle
• Experience in forming and leading multiple project teams delivering via multiple methodologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams).
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Commercial acumen in managing and tracking projects and department Financial targets and plans.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
• Adaptability and willingness to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to combine strategic oversight, stakeholder management, operational discipline, and transformation capability in a complex global setting
• Expertise in digital, AI, and data-led initiatives
• Strong transformation and program execution capability, which would be prioritized over pure domain expertise
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across functions
