About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Field Supplier Quality Specialist to support supplier quality activities for power generation, renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transmission, substations, data centers, and industrial infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for supplier qualification, audits, inspections, quality documentation reviews, corrective action management, and supplier performance monitoring to ensure materials and equipment meet project requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations.

 

The Field Supplier Quality Specialist partners with suppliers, procurement, engineering, construction, and project teams to drive quality excellence throughout the supply chain and project lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Conduct supplier qualification reviews, audits, assessments, and performance evaluations.
• Evaluate supplier quality systems, manufacturing capabilities, fabrication processes, and compliance with project requirements.
• Perform source inspections, quality surveillance activities, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) witness activities at supplier facilities.
• Review quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Material Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Compliance (COCs), welding records, inspection reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Investigate supplier quality concerns, support root cause analysis, and manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
• Monitor supplier quality metrics, track performance trends, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with third-party inspectors, testing agencies, suppliers, and project stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
• Support procurement, engineering, and construction teams with supplier quality requirements and technical quality matters.
• Maintain quality records and ensure compliance with company procedures, project specifications, and industry standards.
• Participate in project reviews, lessons learned sessions, and internal or external quality audits.

What You'll Bring

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing, fabrication, procurement, engineering, construction quality, or related disciplines.
• Experience supporting EPC, utility, power generation, renewable energy, transmission, substation, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred.
• Experience working with suppliers, OEMs, manufacturers, and fabrication facilities.
• Prior experience conducting supplier audits, inspections, and quality surveillance activities.

Technical Knowledge

• Supplier Quality Management Systems and Quality Assurance/Quality Control principles.
• Manufacturing, fabrication, inspection, and testing processes.
• Root cause analysis, CAPA programs, and material traceability requirements.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ASME, AWS, ASTM, and AISC standards.
• Familiarity with power generation, renewable energy, BESS, transmission, and substation equipment.

Skills

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and supplier relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Dynamics 365.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Travel & Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 50-75% to project support activities.
• Ability to work in office, manufacturing, warehouse, fabrication, and construction environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
