Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control Patrol in South Boston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control and alarm response activities. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while using technology to document observations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, office spaces, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, and reporting access control concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and completing required reports.
• Observe and report potential hazards, equipment concerns, policy violations, and other security-related incidents to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
