Description
Overview
Repair, maintain, install and build equipment across the School, provide on-going consultations to the faculty and work with problems associated with the manufacture of goods and projects identified by Workforce Polymers. Will work with faculty on original solutions to mechanical problems necessary for the delivery of instruction. In addition, will coordinate activities and projects for work-study students in related program areas.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Associate's Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience that qualifies the person to perform responsibilities and duties of this position. Required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid and in State Driver's License. Required
EXPERIENCE
- Work experience in the maintenance and service of complex mechanical systems. Required
- Work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Required
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and repair techniques. Required
- Knowledge of various welding equipment. Required
- Possession of a valid driver's license. Required
- Must have training and/or certification in forklift operation or become trained/certified prior to performing forklift responsibilities. Required
- Knowledge of materials handling concepts, robotics, and CNC. Preferred
Responsibilities
- Diagnose problems and perform minor/major servicing and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, manufacturing control systems for robots, and CNC machining centers.
- Perform machine rigging and forklift operation.
- Consult with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) representatives and repair departments as necessary when initial diagnosis and repair procedures fail.
- Assist the faculty with instructional and technical projects.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of instructional equipment in the various departments in the academic school.
- Design, build, and install, items for customizing inhouse equipment, i.e., CNC and robots.
- Provide assistance to the PIRC's Project team.
- Recommend to Dean of Engineering Technologies equipment necessary to meet instructional objectives.
- Ensure proper configurations and installations of resources to effectively deliver Workforce Polymers projects, training and demonstrations.
- Keep accurate documentation (drawings and written) of repairs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist vendors when necessary, with installation, setup and testing of new automated or related manufacturing equipment.
Physical Standards and Special Job Features
- Lifting not to exceed 40 lbs. required.
- May need to work on equipment from ladders.
- Must be able to maneuver among machinery set up in the labs and climb over and under large equipment in process of doing repairs.
Pay Transparency
Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the hourly range is $26.67 - $30.26.College Statement
