We are the Content Platforms team with a mission to “reimagine the technical ecosystem that empowers The Walt Disney Company to harness its unparalleled storytelling and distribute it around the world.” Content Platforms is part of the Disney Entertainment & ESPN Production(DEEP) segment which is responsible for The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including the ESPN+ sports streaming service, programmed in conjunction with ESPN; Disney+, the Disney-branded direct-to-consumer streaming service; global advertising sales and ad technology for all of Disney’s media properties, including ABC, ESPN, Freeform, FX Networks, National Geographic and the Disney Channels; Hotstar, the leading over-the-top streaming service in India; and the Company’s majority ownership stake in Hulu.

Describe what the person will do in the role - how he/she will impact the organization.  

• In This role will work within the Frontend Web and Experience team and will be primarily responsible for building out various tools to empower workflows and reporting on the digital supply chain.  

Summarize job responsibilities, core deliverables and major duties. What is required for the position to exist?   

• Creating and maintaining shared JavaScript libraries and UI components.  

• Implementing business logic of various tool workflows. 

• Reviewing others JavaScript and TypeScript code. 

• Acting as a tech leader for various projects and initiatives. 

• Employ test driven development and agile development practices. 

Minimum and Preferred. Inclusive of Licenses/Certs (include functional experience as well as behavioral attributes and/or leadership capabilities).  

• Basic Qualifications 

• BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent 

•  Proven understanding of frontend web development technologies and principles 

•  Knowledge of JavaScript and JS frameworks 

•  Effective communicator, collaborator, and teammate 

•  Able to multi-task and prioritize as needed 

•  Quick to learn new concepts 

• Additional desired qualifications 

• Previous work experience in media distribution 

• Experience building AI driven software 

• Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results 

• Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling 

• Experience with React Native  

• Education: BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent. 

• Experience: Minimum 3+ experience years in web development or software engineering
