Works Inspector (Mechanical)

Parsons is looking for an experienced Works Inspector (Mechanical) to join our team! In this role, you will oversee and inspect daily site operations related to mechanical construction works, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conducting thorough inspections of mechanical construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring and reporting on work progress, identifying potential delays or issues, and recommending corrective actions to ensure the project remains on track.
- Inspecting materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure they meet the required quality standards and project specifications.
- Ensuring proper documentation of all inspections, including daily reports, safety reports, and quality control checklists.
- Coordinating with construction teams to ensure smooth execution of mechanical works, such as pumping stations, water supply and sewer networks, HVAC systems (where applicable), valves, pipelines, and associated mechanical systems.
- Managing site safety related to mechanical works, ensuring that all workers adhere to safety protocols and minimizing risks associated with mechanical installations and operations.
- Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for mechanical works.
- Assisting with testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet the necessary quality, performance, and functionality standards before handover.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 8 years of experience in mechanical construction inspection, with at least 5 years in an inspection role on large-scale infrastructure projects and related mechanical infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction standards, codes, and regulations applicable to infrastructure and building services.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, technical specifications, and installation details.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiar with inspection reporting tools/software.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proactive problem-solving abilities and the ability to adapt quickly to changing site conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review and check mechanical construction work for accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with international construction standards and local codes, particularly in the Middle East or GCC.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and other mechanical engineering design or markup software.
- Ability to work under pressure and support inspection activities across multiple projects at the same time.
