Job Summary

The Vice President provides enterprise leadership for demand planning, supply chain analytics, digital supply chain capabilities, systems strategy, integrated business prioritization, and supply chain financial planning. This role is responsible for transforming data, forecasting, technology, and financial insights into actionable business decisions that optimize capital deployment, material availability, supply chain performance, and enterprise value creation. The position serves as the strategic leader for demand management, analytics, control tower visibility, systems enablement, project delivery, and supply chain budgeting processes across the enterprise.

As a key enterprise partner, this leader works closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Project Management, and Regulatory organizations to drive operational excellence, financial stewardship, risk management, technology transformation, and scalable capabilities that support AEP's long-term growth strategy.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

Enterprise Demand Planning & Integrated Prioritization

• Develop and execute AEP's enterprise supply chain demand planning strategy.
• Lead the development and execution of enterprise demand planning strategies that align capital investment plans, operational requirements, material demand, supplier capacity, and business priorities. 
• Establish integrated planning processes that enable visibility and prioritization across capital projects, operational work, maintenance activities, and strategic initiatives.
• Provide executive leadership for demand forecasting, scenario planning, portfolio analysis, and resource prioritization to support enterprise decision-making.
• Ensure alignment between supply chain capabilities, procurement strategies, inventory planning, and enterprise capital deployment objectives. 
• Develop governance frameworks that optimize resource allocation, mitigate planning risks, and improve enterprise investment outcomes.

Digital Supply Chain, Analytics & Control Tower

• Establish and lead AEP's digital supply chain strategy, leveraging advanced analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to improve operational performance and decision-making. 
• Provide executive oversight for enterprise supply chain analytics, business intelligence, performance reporting, predictive modeling, and data governance capabilities. 
• Develop and maintain control tower capabilities that provide end-to-end visibility into demand, supply, inventory, logistics, supplier performance, and capital project readiness.
• Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making across Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Project Management organizations.
• Lead the development of enterprise metrics, dashboards, and analytical frameworks that improve forecasting accuracy, risk visibility, service performance, and financial outcomes.
• Establish data management and governance standards that promote transparency, consistency, accuracy, and enterprise-wide utilization of supply chain information.
  Systems Support and Strategic Projects
• Provide executive oversight for supply chain systems strategy, application support, business process enablement, and technology investment planning. 
• Lead the prioritization and delivery of major supply chain systems implementations, upgrades, integrations, and transformation initiatives. 
• Partner with Information Technology and business leaders to ensure technology roadmaps support enterprise supply chain objectives, scalability requirements, and long-term business strategy. 
• Establish governance and performance measures for technology investments, project delivery, system adoption, and business value realization. 
• Drive continuous improvement through process standardization, digital enablement, automation, and enterprise systems optimization.

Supply Chain Finance and Budgeting

• Provide executive leadership for supply chain financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and investment governance. 
• Lead development of annual operating plans, long-range financial forecasts, capital planning assumptions, and enterprise supply chain investment strategies. 
• Partner with Finance to develop financial performance metrics, value realization programs, productivity initiatives, and cost optimization strategies.
• Establish processes that provide transparency into supply chain expenditures, inventory investments, capital support costs, technology investments, and operational performance.
• Ensure analytical insights support enterprise decision-making related to working capital, inventory investments, procurement savings, operating costs, and capital efficiency.
  Enterprise Strategy and Leadership
• Serve as the executive leader responsible for enterprise demand planning, supply chain analytics, digital enablement, control tower operations, systems strategy, and financial planning capabilities. 
• Establish long-term strategic roadmaps that enhance forecasting capabilities, data analytics maturity, technology enablement, supply chain visibility, and organizational decision-making.

Transformation & Innovation

• Champion supply chain digitization initiatives that leverage predictive analytics, machine learning, automation, advanced reporting, and integrated planning technologies. 
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through data-driven insights, digital capabilities, and enterprise performance management tools.
  

Talent & Safety Leadership

• Build and develop a high-performing organization focused on safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Lead succession planning, workforce development, and organizational capability-building efforts.
  

Executive Communications

• Present operational performance, strategic initiatives, investment priorities, and key risks to executive leadership and governance bodies.
• Represent AEP with suppliers, regulators, industry organizations, and external stakeholders.
• Provide executive visibility into supply chain performance, material readiness, operational risks, and transformation progress.
  

What We're Looking For:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
• MBA or other advanced degree.
• CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP, Six Sigma, or comparable certifications.
  

Experience:

• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, procurement, engineering, or related disciplines.
• 8+ years leading large, geographically dispersed organizations.
• Demonstrated success delivering operational excellence, business transformation, and enterprise-scale results.
  

Other Must Haves:

• Executive leadership and enterprise strategic planning capabilities.
• Deep expertise in supply chain operations, inventory management, logistics, and materials management.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing large asset portfolios and operating budgets.
• Proven ability to lead transformation and drive operational excellence.
• Ability to influence senior leaders, build partnerships, and develop high-performing teams.
• Deep expertise in demand planning, integrated business planning, supply chain analytics, digital transformation, forecasting, performance management, and financial planning.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise data, analytics, technology, and decision-support functions within complex operating environments. 
• Strong understanding of supply chain control tower capabilities, business intelligence platforms, planning systems, enterprise technology implementations, and data governance. 
• Advanced financial acumen with experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and value realization initiatives.

Scope & Impact

• Executive accountability for enterprise demand planning, integrated prioritization, analytics, data governance, digital supply chain capabilities, systems strategy, and supply chain financial planning. 
• Leadership of enterprise forecasting, control tower operations, business intelligence, reporting, budgeting, and supply chain technology capabilities. 
• Significant influence on capital allocation, inventory investment decisions, supply chain performance, operational readiness, business prioritization, and enterprise financial outcomes. 
• Responsible for enabling executive decision-making through data-driven insights, predictive analytics, integrated planning processes, and enterprise performance visibility.

Compensation Range:

$221,489.00 - $287,934.50
