Overview:

Prosek’s growing Healthcare practice advises organizations across the healthcare ecosystem, from healthcare services and life sciences to health technology, diagnostics and investment. The team helps clients navigate complex business and reputational issues through strategic communications, including strengthening corporate narratives, elevating executive visibility and managing high-stakes moments.

We are seeking a Vice President with deep healthcare communications experience to join Prosek’s growing Healthcare practice.

This person will serve as a senior account leader across a portfolio of sophisticated healthcare clients and will independently manage complex mandates, counsel senior executives and oversee high-performing account teams. The role requires someone who combines strong healthcare fluency with excellent client judgment, account management and communications skills.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare practitioner who can own client relationships, lead teams and drive strategic work from development through execution, while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

 

What you’ll be doing:

• Creating and leading strategic communications programs for a portfolio of healthcare and life sciences clients
• Serving as a senior day-to-day counselor to C-suite executives and senior communications leaders
• Developing and executing integrated communications strategies grounded in a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and the healthcare landscape
• Translating complex healthcare, scientific and business issues into clear, compelling narratives and communications strategies
• Leading corporate and executive media relations programs and building strong relationships with healthcare, business and financial media
• Crafting and editing executive communications, corporate narratives, messaging, presentations and other C-suite materials
• Managing senior client relationships, account teams, budgets and the day-to-day execution of complex mandates
• Navigating issues, crisis and other high-stakes or reputationally sensitive situations
• Mentoring and developing junior team members while building strong, collaborative account teams
• Partnering across Prosek’s FinComms, IR, Private Markets, Special Situations and other capabilities to deliver integrated counsel
• Contributing to new business, thought leadership and the continued growth of the Healthcare & Life Sciences practice

 

What makes you qualified:

• 9 to 12+ years of strategic communications experience, preferably including significant agency or in-house healthcare communications experience
• Deep knowledge of the healthcare and life sciences landscape, with experience across areas such as healthcare services, health technology, diagnostics, payors, biopharma or healthcare investing
• Proven ability to independently lead complex accounts and counsel senior executives
• Strong corporate communications and media relations experience
• Experience supporting public company communications and/or financial communications
• Experience navigating crisis communications, issues management and other high-stakes reputational matters
• Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills, including experience developing C-suite communications
• Strong judgment and comfort operating in complex, highly regulated and reputationally sensitive environments
• Experience managing teams and developing junior talent

The anticipated salary range for this position is $135,000-$180,000. An employee's salary is determined by a range of factors including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is one component of Prosek's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, new business commission, paid time off, and other benefits.
