**Future Opportunity**

CSEngineering is seeking a Top-Level Engine Mariner Subject Matter Expert to support a federal maritime training course approval mission. This position responsible for evaluating engine/marine engineering training course curricula, sites, and instructors against federal regulatory and policy standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate maritime training course curricula, training sites, and instructors, with emphasis on engine and marine engineering subject matter.
• Assess course requests against 46 CFR Parts 10, 11, and 12 and applicable federal policy and guidance.
• Apply NVIC 01-26, Marine Safety Manual Volume III, applicable NVICs, agency MMS documentation, and relevant maritime industry practice.
• Develop technical recommendations regarding course approval and draft/update responses for Government review.
• Maintain a minimum course-approval volume of 20 courses per month.
• Attend a required 2-week training/orientation at the federal credentialing center and any additional onsite training requested by the COR.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable maritime laws, regulations, policies, and agency procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• USCG-issued Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC), held currently or previously, endorsed as Chief Engineer of vessels of any horsepower (Unlimited Horsepower) for Motor (Diesel), Steam, or Gas Turbine propulsion, OR First Assistant Engineer of vessels of any horsepower (Unlimited Horsepower) for the same propulsion types.
• Minimum 5 years of sailing experience on the qualifying credential.
• Experience with multiple or all propulsion modes (Motor/Diesel, Steam, Gas Turbine) is highly preferred but not required.
• Experience developing or writing maritime training courses is preferred but not required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
