Description
General Summary
The Import Administrator is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks to support the operations of the Customs Compliance department. Works under the general direction of the Customs Compliance Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Track and trace ocean shipments and update Excel spreadsheets with ETA dates.
Electronically approve ACH duty payments daily.
Use carrier Arrival Notices and UFP systems to organize and set up commercial documents for filing entry with Customs.
Prepare and send billing invoices to customers.
Monitor and send ACH statements to customers.
Submit payment for Customs exams on imported shipments.
Manage various other functions essential to maintaining a strong Customs Compliance program.
Job Specifications
Knowledge
Prefer knowledge of international logistics / Customs terminology
Skills and abilities
Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong attention to detail; accurate and fast data entry
Strong ability to organize and prioritize work
Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking
Ability to maintain and protect confidential business information
Conduct
Excellent attendance; strong work ethic; motivated and enthusiastic; positive attitude
Commitment to integrity and professionalism
Works well under little supervision
Ability to pass a drug test
Ability to work hours mandated by management
Be a team player and support the Company's goals
Working Conditions
Requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time; talking, hearing and seeing are essential duties; Some travel maybe required. Requires ability to productively work remotely as needed.
