The Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) is responsible for developing and managing the University’s IT infrastructure and information systems. We champion the effective and innovative uses of IT to support learning, research, and administrative activities. The Enterprise Architecture & Technology team in ITSO manages a broad range of advanced technologies including public and private clouds, identity and access management, server and desktop environments, application platforms, AI technology, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters for research computation.
We are looking for skilled IT professionals to join the AI technology group within the Enterprise Architecture & Technology team.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop AI solutions and applications, including chatbots, agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows, and machine learning (ML) systems
- Ensure performance, security and compliance in all ML and LLM operations
- Drive the adoption and integration of AI across IT processes to streamline workflows and enhance service delivery
- Oversee end-to-end AI project management, prepare and develop system implementation documents
- Stay updated on emerging AI technologies and best practices for higher education environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or equivalent with at least five years of working experience
- Proficiency with leading frontier and open-weight AI models
- Proficiency in Python programming and AI frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, or similar tools
- Experience deploying open-weight models in on-premises environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience using MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar tools to manage the end-to-end model fine-tuning lifecycle
- Experience of working in an Agile and DevOps environment
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. They should be able to work under pressure and have good teamwork with self-initiative attitude
Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for the position of Associate IT Specialist.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
