Role and Responsibilities
Job Description
The Logistics Innovation Intelligence Jr Manager LATAM is a strategic, hands-on, and data-driven role within the Process Innovation & Logistics Strategy team. This position plays a transformative role in defining, deploying, and optimizing logistics operations across Latin America (covering Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Panama, and Miami) for both Finished Goods (all product divisions) and Spare Parts operations.
The role bridges advanced business intelligence, operational execution, and process redesign. By combining deep operational logistics expertise with modern data engineering, scalable reporting, and automation capabilities, the manager will lead strategic programs such as Long-Term Capacity Planning, Cost Efficiency, and Logistics Process Innovation—transforming raw operational data into scalable, actionable business insights and optimized supply chain execution
Key Job Responsabilities
1. Strategic Logistics Planning & Network Optimization
- Logistics Strategy Deployment: Lead data-driven analytics to support the definition and deployment of regional logistics strategy across LATAM subsidiaries and hubs.
- Long-Term Capacity Planning (LTCP): Run sophisticated sales demand, volume projection, and logistics capacity analyses to design optimized distribution networks, warehouse footprint models, and transportation mode strategies.
- Infrastructure & Automation: Evaluate and support warehouse infrastructure enhancement and warehouse automation initiatives across regional distribution centers.
2. B2B Intelligence, Data Architecture & Scalable Analytics
- Scalable Data Solutions: Architect, build, and maintain automated analytics pipelines, executive dashboards, and operational reporting models to eliminate manual overhead.
- Data Governance & Due Diligence: Establish robust data sourcing guidelines, oversee regional database governance, validate ERP/NERP data integrity, and ensure consistency across multi-country logistics datasets.
- Technology & Self-Service BI Collaboration: Partner with IT and Technology teams to develop self-service BI platforms, streamline ETL/data extraction routines, and elevate analytical maturity across logistics teams.
3. Cost Efficiency Program & Performance Monitoring
- End-to-End Cost Analysis: Lead comprehensive cost-to-serve and efficiency programs identifying savings in warehousing (storage, handling, fixed/variable cost allocation), transportation modes, and LSP (Logistics Service Provider) rate structures.
- Operational SLA & KPI Correlation: Monitor regional operational performance, correlating key operational metrics (lead times, on-time delivery, fill rates, warehouse productivity) with financial cost drivers and SLA compliance.
- Root Cause & Scenario Modeling: Build simulation and scenario-modeling tools to evaluate trade-offs between logistics cost, inventory velocity, and customer service levels.
4. Process Innovation & Regional Governance
- Process Standardization & Optimization: Identify operational bottlenecks and redesign regional standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inbound/outbound flows, customs, and inventory management.
- Scalable Framework Implementation: Replace ad-hoc manual tasks with robust, scalable digital workflows and automated governance mechanisms across all operational hubs.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Regional Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as the key intelligence liaison between Regional HQ, Subsidiary Logistics Operations, Sales Divisions (B2B / D2C), SCM, Finance, Procurement, and IT.
- Executive Presentations & Decision Support: Synthesize complex data into high-impact executive summaries, dashboards, and strategic presentations for regional and global senior leadership.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, or related quantitative field.
- Experience: Experience in logistics, supply chain management, logistics finance, or logistics analytics.
Technical & Analytical Competencies
- Advanced Data Manipulation: Expert-level mastery of Microsoft Excel (advanced modeling, complex formulas, Power Query, VBA/Macros).
- Database & SQL Knowledge: Strong proficiency in SQL querying, relational database structures, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP/NERP, WMS, TMS).
- Business Intelligence & Programming (Plus): Experience with Python, R, Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau for data extraction, automation, and dashboard development.
- Operational Modeling: Demonstrated track record in network modeling, cost allocation methodologies, and capacity planning.
Core Competencies & Soft Skills
- Hands-on & Scalable Mindset: Strong balance between roll-up-your-sleeves data wrangling and building sustainable, scalable automated processes.
- Problem Solving & Innovation: Proactive approach to diagnosing complex operational issues and designing creative, structured solutions.
- Communication & Influencing: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical data clearly to senior non-technical executives.
- Languages: Advanced proficiency in English (required); proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
