This role will operate under Advanced Die Casting, LLC as a whole-owned subsidiary of Humanscale.
Overview
The Maintenance Technician supports the machine shop and facility operations by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and building structures. Key duties include fabricating parts from blueprints, diagnosing and repairing equipment issues, inspecting tools and materials, and logging daily work orders and maintenance reports.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and elaborate parts to support machine shop operations
- Assist with minor repairs to machinery and building facilities
- Support inspections, upkeep, and minor modifications of machinery and facilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks according to established schedules
- Maintain daily records of equipment malfunctions, preventive maintenance, and completed work orders
- Verify that all equipment, tools, and materials are available and in proper condition; report needs to the supervisor
- Assist with timely diagnosis and repair of maintenance issues in accordance with area procedures
- Support coordination of maintenance activities and control of materials and tools
- Assist with scheduling and completing preventive and corrective maintenance work orders
Qualifications
- Degree/Certificate in a technical program (or vocational training) in machine tools and machining.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience with die casting or plastic injection processes.
- Active participation in improvement events (Kaizens) in the area of responsibility.
- Provide leadership in their field with plant personnel.
- Follow-up on area safety and discipline policies.
- Working knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) frameworks and hands-on welding processes.
- Implementation of 6S programs and waste elimination.
- Knowledge of conventional lathe, conventional milling machinery, machining tools, and machining materials.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic installations.
- Sense of urgency and effective communication with coworkers.
- Flexible schedule availability.
- Ability to prioritize and stay organized.
- Customer focused; adept at managing difficult situations; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to build credibility within an organization and with customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills including root cause identification and continuous improvement.

- Lifting capacity of up to 30 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the production area.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and working in awkward or non-ergonomic positions.
- Repetitive movements involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
- Manual pushing and pulling of carts, pallet jacks, containers, and maintenance equipment.
- Exposure to industrial noise.
- Exposure to dust, oil mist, chemicals, welding fumes, and non-ionizing radiation associated with manufacturing operations.
- Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to manage daily correspondence, draft documents, and track basic data.
- Basic knowledge of work order management, maintenance records, and reporting.
