Glass Recycling Plant Operator
Location: Alex Fraser – Laverton, VIC

About the Role
Alex Fraser is looking for a reliable, motivated and hands-on Glass Recycling Plant Operator to join our team at our Laverton facility.
The successful applicant will be responsible for safely operating, monitoring and maintaining the glass recycling plant, ensuring efficient production and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and develop their skills. Full training will be provided on how to safely operate and run the glass recycling plant.
Experience in recycling, crushing, quarrying or material processing is highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate and monitor the glass recycling plant and associated equipment.
Learn and progressively take responsibility for running the plant.
Monitor plant performance, production and product quality.
Carry out daily plant inspections and operational checks.
Identify blockages, faults and equipment issues and report them promptly.
Assist with routine plant maintenance, cleaning and housekeeping.
Operate a Bobcat and other mobile plant as required.
Keep the plant and surrounding work areas clean, safe and organised.
Follow all workplace health, safety and environmental procedures.
Report hazards, incidents, equipment faults and maintenance requirements.
Work closely with the production and maintenance teams.
Complete training and develop the skills required to independently run the plant.

Essential Requirements
Current Forklift Licence (LF) – essential.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Reliable transport to and from the Laverton site.
Willingness to undertake training and site-specific competencies.
Experience & Qualifications – Highly Regarded
Recycling industry experience.
Crushing or quarrying experience.
Experience operating fixed plant or material processing equipment.
Experience with conveyors, screens, crushers or similar equipment.
Bobcat experience.
Mobile plant experience.
Basic mechanical or maintenance experience.
Training Provided
Full on-the-job training will be provided to teach the successful applicant how to operate, monitor and maintain the glass recycling plant.
The right attitude, reliability, safety awareness and willingness to learn are important qualities for this role.
