General Information/Job Summary

Lead the planning, execution, and completion of commissioning activities to ensure systems, equipment, and facilities are installed, tested, integrated, and operational in accordance with project requirements, specifications, safety standards, and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, and documentation.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with project management, engineering, construction, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Lead equipment and system testing, inspection, startup, and functional performance testing.
• Track commissioning progress, deficiencies, punch-list items, and corrective actions.
• Review drawings, specifications, equipment documentation, and testing requirements.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with applicable codes, standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
• Manage commissioning teams and coordinate third-party specialists and vendors.
• Prepare progress reports, test records, commissioning certificates, and final handover documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during startup and commissioning.
• Coordinate final system acceptance and turnover to operations or the client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field preferred.
• 5+ years of commissioning, construction, engineering, or project management experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
• Strong understanding of equipment startup, testing, controls, and system integration.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project-management/commissioning software.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and safety requirements.

Preferred

• Professional certification in commissioning, project management, or engineering.
• Experience with large industrial, commercial, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing commissioning schedules, budgets, contractors, and vendors.
• Strong client-facing and leadership experience.
