Certified High School Math Teacher

Overview

Village Academy, located within Village Behavioral Health in Louisville, TN, is seeking a Certified High School Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. This position serves students in a structured, therapeutic educational setting and requires a highly skilled educator committed to supporting students with diverse academic and behavioral needs.

 

This is a salaried position starting at: $55,000 a year.

 

Position Summary:The Math Teacher is responsible for delivering standards-based instruction aligned with Tennessee state standards while supporting students in a residential treatment environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong classroom management, flexibility, and a commitment to individualized instruction.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging math instruction aligned with TN standards
• Implement individualized supports based on student needs and IEP goals
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of student progress
• Collaborate with clinical, residential, and educational staff
• Support a positive, safe, and structured learning environment

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Tennessee teaching license with high school math endorsement
• Experience teaching secondary math content
• Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and progress monitoring
• Ability to maintain a structured, consistent classroom environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in alternative, special education, or therapeutic settings
• Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and behavioral supports
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field which is eligible for teacher certification or license within the state where the facility is located is required.
• One or more years’ experience working with population of the facility preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of the developmental stages and behaviors for age group of students.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
