Minimum Qualifications
Based at the Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge, MD, and mentored by Drs. Andrea Pain and Elizabeth North, the successful candidate will take an important role in experimental research by
developing a Digital Twin of our PCC reactor. This Digital Twin will simulate precipitation dynamics of calcium carbonate and co-precipitates and will describe mineral saturation states, precipitation kinetics,
and estimate mass yields. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in virtual team meetings and help design experiments to test the Digital Twin.
We are seeking well-qualified candidates with experience in analytical chemistry, carbonate chemistry, calcium carbonate precipitation and applications, programming in R and/or python, and thermodynamic
and kinetic geochemical modeling. A Ph.D. is required at the beginning of the period of employment. This limited duration appointment (4 – 6 months) provides competitive pay ($38.5 to $40 per hour) and
a supportive environment for hybrid work.
