Description
Mission Brief
Isar Aerospace is scaling from a high-performing engineering and production organization into a global space company. As we increase production capacity, expand internationally, and industrialize our operations, the way we work must scale as fast as our technology.
Your mandate: help accelerate Isar's transformation into a highly efficient, data-driven, and digitally enabled operations organization. You identify bottlenecks, improve processes, drive adoption of new ways of working, and ensure that core digital systems - PLM, MES, ERP, AI, and analytics - create measurable business value across the full operations value chain.
This is a builder role, not a coordinator role. We need someone who combines analytical thinking with relentless execution, enjoys solving complex cross-functional problems, and is energized by turning ambiguity into results. Success in this role is measured by improved operational performance, stronger governance, faster execution, and sustainable organizational change.
You will work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Enterprise IT & Data, and the CEO Office to help scale Isar's operating model for the next phase of growth
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Drive high-impact operational transformation initiatives across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering, ensuring projects deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Lead complex cross-functional projects from problem identification through implementation, stakeholder alignment, and sustainable operational adoption.
- Support the stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement of the critical operations systems triangle - PLM, MES, and ERP - including the connected business processes and workflows around them.
- Establish governance structures, performance management mechanisms, KPI frameworks, and reporting processes that improve organizational alignment and execution.
- Analyze operational bottlenecks and identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, scalability, cost efficiency, and execution speed across the value chain.
- Help define and improve how product, process, manufacturing, and supply chain data flows through PLM, MES, and ERP to enable faster decisions and cleaner execution.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Enterprise IT & Data to strengthen the integrated digital thread across PLM, MES, and ERP, connecting engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality functions.
- Drive change management activities for major transformation initiatives, ensuring new processes, tools, and behaviors are successfully adopted across the organization.
- Support AI, automation, and analytics initiatives within Operations and identify opportunities where technology can create measurable business leverage.
Qualification Checklist
- First professional experience in operations, consulting, digital transformation, manufacturing, business systems, project management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in operational excellence, digital transformation, enterprise systems, and the PLM-MES-ERP triangle required to scale advanced manufacturing organizations.
- Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop pragmatic solutions, and drive implementation in fast-moving environments.
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders and functions while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with a hands-on execution mindset.
- Familiarity with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering, or operational business processes.
- Interest in digital technologies, enterprise applications, PLM, MES, ERP, data analytics, AI, automation, and process improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, rapidly scaling environment with evolving priorities and imperfect information. Fluent English.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with PLM, MES, ERP, manufacturing systems, operational analytics, or business process transformation.
- Exposure to aerospace, defence, automotive, advanced manufacturing, industrial technology, or another engineering-driven environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale transformation or change management initiatives.
- International project experience and willingness to travel as required. Fluent German skills.
