About the Role
Micron's ASIC Product & Test Engineering team is looking for an experienced ASIC Test Lab Equipment Engineer to support semiconductor test operations, qualification activities, and engineering development programs in the Taichung MTB lab.
This role will be responsible for supporting and maintaining Teradyne UltraFLEX testers, TEL wafer probers, Chroma handlers, burn-in systems, and associated test hardware used for ASIC NPI, characterization, reliability qualification, and production readiness activities. The engineer will partner closely with Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, and external equipment vendors to maximize equipment readiness, improve engineering efficiency, and accelerate new product introduction timelines.
Responsibilities
ATE, Prober and Handler Support
- Support daily operation, setup, qualification, maintenance, and troubleshooting of:
- Teradyne UltraFLEX ATE systems
- TEL wafer probers
- Chroma handlers
- Perform equipment bring-up, installation, acceptance, calibration, preventative maintenance, and recovery.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hardware interface, and communication issues between tester, prober, and handler systems.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and escalations with equipment vendors.
- Monitor equipment health, uptime, utilization, and readiness.
Test Hardware Support
- Support qualification and debug of:
- Probe cards
- Load boards
- Sockets
- Interface boards
- Cables and contactor hardware
- Troubleshoot contact, alignment, thermal, and signal integrity issues.
- Perform hardware qualification and correlation activities before engineering releases.
NPI and Characterization Support
- Support ASIC silicon bring-up, characterization, debug, and test program validation activities.
- Prepare tester, handler, and prober setups for engineering builds.
- Support engineering data collection and failure reproduction.
- Work closely with Product Engineering and Test Engineering teams to resolve hardware-related issues impacting NPI schedules.
- Assist with failure analysis sample screening and data collection.
HTOL and ELFR Qualification Support
- Execute HTOL/ELFR readouts on UltraFLEX platforms.
- Troubleshoot qualification fallout related to ATE hardware, handlers, sockets, or interfaces.
- Support reliability engineering teams in execution of qualification and stress testing activities.
Laboratory Operations
- Develop and maintain SOPs, PM procedures, setup guides, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Manage spare parts and critical equipment inventory.
- Drive equipment uptime improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support laboratory safety, EHS compliance, and operational excellence initiatives.
AI-Enabled Ways of Working
- Utilize AI-powered tools and digital assistants to improve engineering productivity, data analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Apply automation, scripting, and AI-assisted workflows to streamline tester setup, equipment monitoring, qualification execution, and laboratory operations.
- Continuously identify opportunities to leverage AI and data-driven solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle time.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Semiconductor Engineering
- Related technical disciplines
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting semiconductor test equipment or manufacturing equipment.
- Hands-on experience supporting one or more of the following:
- Teradyne UltraFLEX testers
- TEL wafer probers
- Chroma handlers
- Probe cards, load boards, and sockets
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience performing equipment qualification, preventative maintenance, calibration, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Experience supporting:
