 Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, Vice President and Manager of Real Estate Lending. In this vital role, you will oversee the products, policies, procedures, and day-to-day operations of our Mortgage Loan Department.

You will have advanced responsibility for residential first mortgages, construction loans, second mortgages, and HELOCs, including the origination and servicing of Freddie Mac loans.  What You Will Do

  • Department Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor mortgage loan staff in credit quality, product structuring, pricing, and relationship building.
  • Portfolio Management: Underwrite, evaluate, and originate residential first mortgages, construction loans, second mortgages, and HELOCs. Manage a personal loan portfolio and lead collection efforts on delinquent loans when necessary.
  • Secondary Market & Investor Relations: Manage the mortgage pipeline to maximize efficiency and earnings for secondary market sales. Serve as the primary contact for Freddie Mac relationships, including annual reporting, remittances, and compliance.
  • Compliance & Security: Monitor documentation workflows (underwriting, closing statements, title insurance, etc.) to ensure strict adherence to bank policies, RESPA, HMDA, and GLBA compliance.
  • Business Development: Deepen customer relationships, cross-sell bank products, and build key business contacts within the local community to drive revenue growth.

Requirements

 What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: 8+ years of successful credit analysis and lending support experience. 10+ years of direct industry experience in loan servicing and credit analysis is highly preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to build, develop, coach, and manage a team (3+ years of supervisory experience preferred).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; OR 10 years of related training/experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of title policies, lending regulations (RESPA, HMDA), banking databases, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, sharp financial analysis skills, strong negotiation capabilities, and advanced time management.

 Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Professional, comfortable open-concept office layout with a flexible, non-confined workspace.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods.
  • Constant operation of standard office equipment (computers, phones).

  • Mortgage Lending: 8 years (Required)
