Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Physician, you will join our well-established hospital-employed group at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Every day you will focus on providing high-quality care for adults, leveraging your dual expertise in pulmonology and sleep medicine. You will be instrumental in diagnosing and treating complex respiratory conditions and sleep-related disorders, seamlessly transitioning between clinical consultations and diagnostic sleep evaluations. This dynamic role offers the unique chance to follow patients through their entire continuum of care—from acute respiratory distress to long-term management of chronic pulmonary diseases and sleep health.
To be successful in this role, you will be a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Physician with a dedication to providing outstanding clinical care in a collaborative hospital environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide spectrum of respiratory system illnesses, including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension.
- Managing comprehensive sleep medicine services, including the interpretation of polysomnography and treatment of sleep apnea and related disorders.
- Performing specialized pulmonary procedures, such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and critical care management.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, prescribing medications, and providing long-term care management.
- Collaborating effectively with primary care physicians, oncologists, surgeons, and other specialists, and providing expert pulmonary consultations in both hospital settings and the ICU.
- Educating patients comprehensively on disease self-management, lifestyle modifications, and CPAP compliance/smoking cessation strategies.
- Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records, ensuring thorough documentation of all patient encounters.
- Adhering to all hospital policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure optimal patient safety and clinical outcomes.

Job Requirements
Required
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care
- Ability to obtain active medical licenses and DEAs in state of Tennessee and Georgia
- AHA ACLS and BLS certifications
