Position serves as the single point of accountability for Avnet’s Mexico sites, including three office buildings, three warehouses, all IPs, and the Juarez proximity warehouse across three legal entities. This leader will oversee site operations, safety and security, employee experience, and legal entity stewardship while aligning global strategy with local execution to deliver service, quality, cost, compliance, and employee experience outcomes.

Provides day-to-day leadership for site performance and stakeholder coordination across Facilities, Human Resources, Global Information Solutions, Finance, Legal, and other functions. The role is also responsible for legal entity governance activities, including budgeting, vendor oversight, regulatory adherence, and compliance with Avnet policies and local requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Unit Strategy Execution

  • Execute business unit strategies for Avnet Core, Farnell, Velocity, and Avnet Integrated Solutions defined by executive leadership, ensuring local execution, coordination, and alignment across Mexico sites and shared services teams.

  • Align resources to achieve annual operating budgets, including Mexico-specific KPIs and cost allocation requirements, while ensuring business unit priorities are supported through effective local execution and cross-functional coordination.

  • Provide local leadership to support customer and supplier onboarding activities across Avnet’s business units.

Site Operations and Facilities

  • Oversee facilities management and services, including administrative support, cafeteria operations, electrical services, vendor management, and refurbishment activities to ensure efficient and consistent operations.

  • Ensure availability and quality of outsourced services and leased contracts; monitor office supplies and fixed assets in partnership with relevant functions.

  • Manage security and reception services to create a safe, welcoming, and efficient workplace environment, including access control, visitor management, reception protocols, vendor coordination, and compliance with safety standards.

Safety, Security, and Business Continuity

  • Own site safety and security programs, including fire and life safety systems, access control, contingency planning, incident communication, and coordination with internal and external responders.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable Mexico regulations, including STPS, NOMs, IMSS, SAT, and corporate EHS standards.

  • Promote a zero-harm culture through clear operating routines, proactive risk management, and timely closure of corrective actions.

Communication, Engagement, and Culture

  • Lead site leadership meetings, councils, operational forums, and people forums in collaboration with functional leadership teams and site stakeholders.

  • Ensure effective communication across Mexico sites by sharing updates, addressing concerns, gathering feedback, and reinforcing alignment to business priorities.

  • Partner with Corporate Marketing and Communications to develop and execute communication plans during emergencies and support site-level event planning and engagement initiatives.

Capacity, Space, and Workplace Strategy

  • Manage site density, space allocation, shift-level seat utilization, and flexible working zones to support operational effectiveness and employee experience.

  • Maintain site-level reporting, dashboards, and KPIs to enable data-driven decisions regarding capacity, space, and workplace planning.

New Process Deployments and Change

  • Lead site change initiatives, migrations, and process deployments in partnership with GIS, Administrative Services, and process teams to ensure seamless transitions.

  • Maintain the migration framework and drive identification of improvement initiatives and development priorities across Mexico sites and shared services teams.

  • Act as the local business sponsor for identified initiatives and corporate priorities.

Legal Entity Governance and Compliance

  • Execute forecasts and business plans for Mexico legal entities; meet goals and metrics defined by leadership; manage budgets and allocate funds appropriately.

  • Ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met in coordination with Legal, HR, Finance, Administrative Services, GIS, Accounting, and other departments.

  • Balance business unit needs with the broader interests of Mexico legal entities through strategic and operational coordination with the BUC team and Governance Board structures.

  • Represent Avnet with Mexican authorities and organizations, including SAT, IMSS, STPS, and other applicable agencies.

  • Serve as the audit body to support cross-department compliance with internal policies; conduct periodic reviews and spot checks; escalate issues and drive remediation with corporate and local stakeholders as needed.

  • Ensure adoption of Avnet global standards where appropriate, including quality management, talent and performance management, and project management.

  • Own and ensure adherence to agreed Mexico standard operating procedures while maintaining compliance with Mexican regulatory bodies.

Vendor, Asset, and Cost Stewardship

  • Negotiate, manage, and monitor outsourced services and vendor terms to support operational quality, service continuity, cost optimization, savings, and applicable governmental incentives.

  • Monitor expenses, fixed assets, company assets, and personal equipment in partnership with BUCs, line managers, and relevant functional teams.

Talent, Workforce, and Leadership

  • Lead with strong communication, stakeholder influence, and project/program management discipline to drive site strategy, continuous improvement, and employee support.

  • Manage shared services employees located in Mexico, providing local leadership and coordination while ensuring alignment with global function priorities, corporate policies, and Mexico site governance expectations.

  • Foster a culture grounded in Avnet’s core values.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in site operations, shared services, legal entity leadership, facilities, operations, or a related field; proven managerial experience and ability to meet or exceed established goals.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.

  • Regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with applicable Mexico labor, tax, social security, safety, and workplace regulations, including STPS, NOMs, IMSS, SAT, and related requirements.

  • Leadership skills: Strong stakeholder influence, senior-level communication, decision-making, project/program management, cross-functional coordination, and change leadership capabilities.

  • Analytical skills: Ability to use dashboards, reports, KPIs, and data-driven storytelling to support operational decisions and executive communication.

  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise platforms, including ERP, HCM, Facilities, EHS, and related systems; ability to partner with stakeholders on technology integration and process improvement.

  • Languages: Fluent English required; Spanish mandatory.
