Mechanical Technician 

NPDI Supplies Development Line 

Position Summary 

The Mechanical Technician supports the NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) Supplies Development Line in producing prototype products and development samples for testing and evaluation of new product programs. The role involves operating production equipment, performing basic machine setup and maintenance activities, supporting engineering development work, and ensuring prototype builds are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. 

The successful candidate should be hands-on, willing to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced development environment supporting multiple projects. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Produce prototype products and development samples according to engineering requirements, quality standards, and testing schedules. 

  • Support timely delivery of prototype supplies to meet development and qualification program needs. 

  • Operate manufacturing equipment and perform routine production activities safely and efficiently. 

  • Perform machine startup, product changeovers, tooling installation, and basic process adjustments as required. 

  • Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities, quality issues, or production disruptions promptly. 

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and housekeeping activities to ensure equipment readiness and workplace safety. 

  • Support engineers in setting up new tools, equipment, and processes for development activities. 

  • Record production output, downtime, and operational data accurately. 

  • Follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety requirements. 

  • Assist in troubleshooting basic equipment and process issues. 

  • Support engineering builds, experiments, and development projects as assigned. 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company EHS requirements. 

  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and team members to achieve project and production objectives. 

Qualifications 

  • GCE O-Level, N-Level, ITE, or equivalent qualification. 

  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. 

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, or machine operation is an advantage but not required. 

  • Ability to follow work instructions and technical procedures. 

  • Basic computer literacy for data recording and reporting. 

  • Willingness to learn new equipment and processes. 

  • Able to perform hands-on work and work in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Good communication and teamwork skills. 

  • Responsible, detail-oriented, and safety conscious. 

Preferred Attributes 

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn. 

  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset. 

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training. 

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities within an R&D and development environment.
