Description

About the role

As Manager, Technology Assurance, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening BOQ Group's technology and cyber security risk posture across line 1 risk. Working at the intersection of Technology, Risk and the Business, you'll lead independent assurance reviews across critical technology and cyber security controls, providing practical insights that support better decision-making and proactive risk management.

This is a highly visible role that will see you partnering with senior leaders across the organisation, as well as Group Risk and Internal Audit teams, to identify emerging risks, evaluate control effectiveness and drive meaningful improvements. You'll help shape the future of assurance at BOQ Group through the development of automated assurance capabilities, while also contributing to important remediation and governance initiatives.

What makes this role particularly exciting is the opportunity to influence change at an enterprise level. You'll have exposure across a broad range of technology and cyber domains, work with diverse stakeholders and play a key role in fostering a strong and proactive risk culture. It's a role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, thinking strategically and delivering outcomes that make a real difference to customers, colleagues and the organisation.

At BOQ Group, you'll find a people-centred environment where support, accountability, coaching and collaboration go hand in hand. We believe great work happens when talented people are empowered to contribute, challenge ideas and continually grow.

About you

You're an experienced technology risk, assurance or audit professional who understands how strong technology and cyber security controls help organisations manage risk and build trust. You enjoy working in complex environments and bring both technical expertise and commercial pragmatism to everything you do.

You have a track record of designing and delivering independent assurance reviews across technology and cyber security controls, with the ability to identify control gaps, understand root causes and provide practical recommendations that lead to meaningful improvement. You're comfortable analysing complex information, seeing connections across risk themes and translating technical issues into clear, actionable insights for a range of audiences.

Just as importantly, you're someone who builds trusted relationships. You know how to provide independent challenge while maintaining strong partnerships across Technology, Risk and the broader business. You thrive when collaborating with others, influencing outcomes and helping organisations navigate change confidently and effectively.

You'll bring qualifications in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related discipline, along with a professional certification such as CISA, CISSP or CRISC. Experience within financial services or another highly regulated industry will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to creating a proactive risk culture and improving outcomes for our customers, colleagues and communities. You'll be curious, accountable and passionate about making a difference, while continuing to grow your own capability in an environment that values learning, challenge and contribution.

Bring your expertise. Shape what's next. Build a stronger future with BOQ Group.
