Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a full-time third-shift opportunity in Greenville, Michigan. This is a hands-on machining position for a candidate with experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC equipment, working from technical drawings, using precision inspection tools, and producing parts to close tolerances and finish specifications.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The CNC Machinist sets up, adjusts, and operates large CNC machines while supporting established quality and production standards. The position requires hands-on knowledge of both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining, Mastercam/CAD/CAM, machine setup, tooling, blueprint interpretation, inspection, and troubleshooting.
The machinist will produce pilot pieces for inspection, verify machine setups, make corrective adjustments, perform final inspections, monitor multiple CNC machines, and work with engineers, management, and other production team members to maintain quality and productivity.

• Fully On-Site in Greenville, Michigan
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up, adjust, and operate large CNC machines
• Perform machining operations involving close tolerances and specified surface finishes
• Operate CNC equipment to produce pilot pieces for inspection
• Check machine setups and make adjustments to correct variances
• Follow prescribed operational sequences and work instructions
• Work from part drawings, specifications, setup instructions, and operating instructions
• Enter instructions into CNC equipment based on programmer specifications
• Set up CNC equipment with the correct attachments and tooling for each job
• Operate and monitor multiple CNC machines simultaneously
• Troubleshoot machine programming issues
• Perform 3-axis CNC machining
• Perform 5-axis CNC machining
• Use Mastercam and CAD/CAM knowledge in the machining process
• Collect data from blueprints, plans, work orders, and other sources to complete inspection sheets
• Use precision measuring instruments to set up, operate, and inspect work
• Perform final inspection of machined components
• Work with CMM inspection processes
• Use calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, and gage pins
• Work with tooling including end mills, bullnose cutters, ballnose cutters, chamfer mills, drills, and related tooling
• Monitor product quality, conformance, and performance throughout production
• Inspect and maintain CNC equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance / PMP duties
• Follow established safety procedures and regulations
• Collaborate with engineers, management, and other team members
• Participate in and support established Quality Management System requirements
QUALITY & PRECISION
This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce and inspect precision-machined components. The machinist must understand the decimal system, accurately interpret technical information, select and use appropriate inspection equipment, and make machine or setup adjustments when measurements fall outside specifications.

• High School Diploma or GED, Related Training, or Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience REQUIRED
• 1–2 Years of Related Hands-On CNC Machining Experience and/or Training REQUIRED
• Hands-On 3-Axis CNC Machining Experience REQUIRED
• Hands-On 5-Axis CNC Machining Experience REQUIRED
• Mastercam / CAD-CAM Knowledge REQUIRED
• CNC Machine Setup Experience REQUIRED
• Ability to Enter CNC Machine Instructions Based on Programmer Specifications REQUIRED
• CNC Programming / Setup Troubleshooting Experience REQUIRED
• Ability to Read and Interpret Blueprints, Part Drawings, Plans, Specifications, and Work Orders REQUIRED
• Precision Inspection and Measurement Experience REQUIRED
• Familiarity with CMM Inspection REQUIRED
• Experience Using Calipers and Micrometers REQUIRED
• Experience Using Depth Micrometers and Gage Pins REQUIRED
• Familiarity with CNC Tooling Including End Mills, Bullnose Cutters, Ballnose Cutters, Chamfer Mills, and Drills REQUIRED
• Ability to Work with Close Tolerances and Finish Specifications REQUIRED
• Ability to Operate and Monitor Multiple CNC Machines REQUIRED
• Ability to Follow Detailed Work Instructions and Safety Procedures REQUIRED
• Understanding of the Decimal System REQUIRED
• Ability to Work 3rd Shift, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM REQUIRED
• Ability to Work Fully On-Site in Greenville, MI REQUIRED
• ISO 9001 / Formal Quality Management System Experience Preferred
EDUCATION NOTE: A college degree is not required. Candidates may qualify with a high school diploma or GED, vocational or apprenticeship training, 1–2 years of directly related CNC machining experience, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
IMPORTANT: This is a hands-on CNC machining position. Candidates should be able to demonstrate actual experience setting up and operating CNC equipment, including both 3-axis and 5-axis machining, using Mastercam/CAD/CAM, selecting tooling, working from technical drawings, and inspecting finished parts with precision measuring equipment.
