SUMMARY

Join McCoy’s dedicated Team of Professional Pricing Analysts concentrating in Hardlines Categories! Study the retail prices of our competitors, analyze price behavior and product performance across our geography. Set and maintain the retails in our Point of Sale system. We’re looking for a Team Member with a passion for optimizing profitable market share growth while creating a positive price image with our Professional and Consumer Customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work interdependently with Teams from Merchandising, Information Services, and McCoy’s Store Operations

• Develop and Execute Category Pricing Strategies:
  • Monitor competition, cost changes, and external factors. Analyze results to suggest changes to retail prices.
  • Manage and document rules and strategies (by category/by geographic zone) as you make changes.
  • Establish review cycle for all assigned categories.
• Analyze impact of price adjustments
  • Generate “what if” scenarios to model sales and gross margin impact. Test, review and report on progress of strategic pricing decisions.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of category pricing strategies, identify gaps and opportunities, and recommend refinements to strategies. 
• Deliver Competitive Intelligence:
  • Collect competitor prices via internet, telephone and in-person.
  • Analyze competitor pricing data provided via online web crawling service.
• General Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for a balanced workload in the stores and improve price execution. Coordinate the day-to-day pricing activities within each merchandise category
  • Proactively communicate relevant information as necessary to appropriate levels in the organization, formally and informally, in both written and oral forms
  • Work on special projects, ad hoc analysis, and initiatives related to pricing strategies 
  • Foster a collaborative partnership with the McCoy’s Store Operations Teams
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures when carrying out position responsibilities
  • Attends and participates in department meetings, training sessions, and company-sponsored programs as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Work toward Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) certification in first year followed by continuous education to remain certified.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work with common mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ Years’ experience pricing commodities with a preference for Lumber and Panels.
• Retail experience helpful.
• Construction experience helpful.

WORK AVAILABILITY

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management
• Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week or such other hours per day or hours per week as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
• Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• This position requires occasional travel with overnight stays
• Must meet driver’s license requirements as required by the Company
• Must be able to legally obtain a rental vehicle in all states in which the company does business
• Must have current auto liability insurance
