Principal Software Engineer
📍 Location: Hyderabad / Remote 🏢 Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Remote
About the Role
We're looking for a technically exceptional Principal Software Engineer with deep expertise in AI skills to join our team to build rapid solutions to address complex customer issues across our core ECM solutions. You will be closely working with customers, services, support and cloud services teams to understand customer pain points, and develop solutions, utilities and contribute to product codebase where appropriate. You'll also establish and evangelize best practices for AI-led development, while maintaining the security, performance, and code quality standards that enterprise systems demand. Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.
- Reverse engineer our flagship products and understand the technical designs and implementation complexities.
- Work with implementation partners, customers and services teams to understand the deployment and upgrade processes and design solutions to unblock implementation and upgrade challenges.
- Build AI enabled features in our core offerings to meet critical customer demands.
- Champion the adoption of AI-assisted code generation tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) while maintaining rigorous quality gates — including peer review processes, testing strategies, and security validation — and mentor engineers on effective prompting strategies and build internal best practices documentation.
- Work with our cross-functional teams to improve and fine-tune our solutions for faster cost-optimized deployments across multiple hyper-scalers.
- Re-design and Re-factor and parts of our products to improve throughput across data ingestion and egress pipelines.
- Design petabyte-scale systems across multi-cloud environments (AWS EKS, Azure AKS, GCP GKE); architect streaming data pipelines establish observability frameworks with distributed tracing, Prometheus metrics, and AI-powered anomaly detection.
- Establish architectural patterns, design guidelines, and RFC processes; implement security-first architecture including secrets management, encryption, and compliance frameworks; champion code quality through CI/CD pipelines with AI-enhanced static analysis, automated testing, and vulnerability scanning.

Role Essentials
- 20+ years in software engineering with 10+ years in architect or principal engineer roles; 8+ years designing distributed systems (Spark, Kafka, distributed databases) at scale; 5+ years building microservices architectures on Kubernetes in production environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Java/C#/C++ with experience in systems programming, memory management, and performance optimization.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with LLMs and AI integration in data systems — including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, vector embeddings, and RAG patterns — with a proven track record architecting MDM, data integration, or data governance platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of distributed systems — consensus algorithms, eventual consistency, distributed tracing, and resilience patterns — with hands-on experience across Spark, Kafka, Trino/Presto, and cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.
- Data storage expertise across MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, Apache Iceberg, HBase, and columnar formats (Parquet, ORC); proven skills with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm); strong experience with cloud platforms including AWS (S3, EMR, EKS) or Azure (Data Lake, AKS).
