NKG Indonesia Imports is seeking a commercially driven and passionate individual to support our growing Arabica and Robusta coffee trading business. You will work closely with experienced traders and industry partners to drive growth in one of the world's most important coffee-producing markets through sourcing, sales, market intelligence, quality management, and customer relationship development. For our group company, NKG Indonesia Imports, we are looking for a Trader (f/m/d). The position will be based in Jakarta and reports directly to the COO.
Your responsibilities
Trading & Sales: Support buying and selling of green coffee, preparation of offers, pricing and negotiation of commercial terms. Develop new customers and progressively manage an assigned portfolio of accounts.
Market Intelligence: Monitor Arabica and Robusta futures, physical differentials, local prices, FX, crop developments, customer demand, and competitor activity, and provide regular market insights to the trading team.
Customer Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their quality and commercial requirements, and identify opportunities to grow volumes and margins.
Quality & Cupping: Participate regularly in cupping sessions with internal teams, suppliers, and customers and develop a strong understanding of key coffee origins, qualities, and customer preferences.
Trade Execution: Coordinate with Traffic, Finance, Quality, and Operations to ensure accurate and timely execution of contracts and commercial documentation.
Risk & Performance: Develop an understanding of physical positions, futures/hedging, margins, and P&L, and operate within established trading and risk-management limits.
Represent the company at supplier/customer meetings, origin visits, trade events, and exhibitions as required.
Uphold company values, compliance requirements, and ethical standards in all commercial activities.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by management from time to time.
Your profile
At least a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, International Trade, Agriculture or a related field.
2–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in coffee, agricultural commodities, commodity trading, export/import, procurement, or B2B sales.
Experience or knowledge of the Indonesian coffee industry and supply chain is strongly preferred.
Strong commercial instinct, numerical ability, and interest in commodity markets.
Exposure to coffee futures, physical pricing, hedging, or commodity risk management is an advantage.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
Full professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Strong Excel/analytical skills; experience with CTRM/ERP systems is an advantage.
Willingness to travel within Indonesia to customers, suppliers and coffee-producing regions.
Proactive, entrepreneurial and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural trading environment.
