Description

Overview

Copper is electrifying the end of the grid by putting batteries inside everyday appliances, starting with Charlie, our battery-equipped induction range to improve how devices perform, draw power, and fit into the modern home.

The Retail Accounts Manager will deepen our relationships with retail partners, ensuring they have everything they need to successfully sell Copper appliances. This support will extend from account-level to location-level and associate-level support, to ensure our partners are all fully trained and supported in selling our appliances.

This requires exceptional organization, sales support, and a service mentality. You'll be supporting partners who have never sold this new category of appliance, so it’s essential they fully understand the simplicity that is unlocked in the transition to battery-integrated appliances and the value of resilience to the modern consumer.

We value diversity and are committed to building a team that reflects a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. We’re especially focused on fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone can contribute to our shared mission.

This is a full-time position and it is expected to be in-office 4 days per week with 1 day flexible for in-office or remote work. Our office is located in Berkeley, CA.

What you'll do

  • Manage and grow relationships with retail partner accounts.
  • Track account performance, down to the location and representative level.
  • Develop and execute account-specific plans to hit revenue and volume targets.
  • Support the Retail Director to present and sell Copper products at trade shows and directly at retailer visits.
  • Forecast demand and coordinate with supply chain and inventory teams to inform distributed warehousing stock levels.
  • Monitor sell-through data, inventory turns, and market share trends by account.
  • Coordinate with marketing for cooperative advertising and in-store merchandising.
  • Resolve account issues related to order fulfillment, warranty claims, returns, damaged goods, and billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Train and support retail sales associates on product features, specifications, and selling points to improve floor-level advocacy for the brand.
  • Track and report on account performance, prepare regular business reviews, and provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline updates to management.

What you'll bring

  • You bring a proven track record of managing and expanding key sales partner relationships, ideally retail partnerships, while consistently exceeding revenue and volume targets. You excel at building customized account plans and working hand-in-hand with leadership.
  • You’ll be supporting the Retail Director during high-stakes retailer visits and trade show presentations. Your communication skills enable you to deliver insightful business reviews, provide accurate sales and pipeline forecasts, and serve as a reliable, strategic growth partner to your accounts.
  • You possess a data-driven mindset that tracks account performance down to individual store locations and sales representatives. By continually monitoring sell-through data, inventory turns, and market share trends, you generate precise demand forecasts and collaborate with supply chain teams to maintain optimal distributed warehouse stock levels. When operational friction arises, you act swiftly to resolve fulfillment delays, billing discrepancies, warranty claims, and returns with complete accountability.
  • You know how to translate brand strategy into floor-level sales momentum by bridging marketing vision with retail execution. You coordinate seamlessly with marketing teams to roll out impactful cooperative advertising campaigns and in-store merchandising displays. Crucially, you serve as an engaging educator who trains and empowers retail sales associates on Copper product features and key selling points, building authentic floor-level advocacy that drives brand loyalty and boosts sell-through.
