Job Scope
High-level purpose of function
The Facility & Utility Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all facility infrastructure and utility systems within the battery manufacturing plant. This role plays a critical part in supporting production operations by maintaining essential services such as HVAC, compressed air, water treatment, electrical distribution, and building systems.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Lead and manage the maintenance of facility infrastructure and utility systems to ensure continuous operation and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes for all utility assets.
Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and support operational efficiency.
Manage external contractors and service providers for specialised maintenance and repairs.
Monitor and optimise energy usage, water consumption, and waste management in line with sustainability goals.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 50001).
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance.
Support capital projects related to facility upgrades and utility expansions.
Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for recurring issues.
Plan, coordinate, and execute plant shutdowns, including scheduling, resource allocation, contractor coordination, and post-shutdown reviews to ensure safe and efficient execution.

Requirements
Educational background and previous experience required for the role
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in facility and utility maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proven experience in managing teams and contractors.
Specific skills
Strong knowledge of utility systems: HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, steam, electrical distribution, and fire protection.
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Understanding of regulatory compliance (e.g., environmental, health & safety).
Project management and budgeting skills.
Ability to analyze technical problems and implement effective solutions.
