Position Overview:

The Instructional Designer serves as a strategic learning experience architect, designing scalable learning solutions that drive measurable business outcomes across Polaris.

Partnering with teams throughout the organization, you will analyze performance needs, develop learning strategies, and create experiences that improve learner proficiency and operational performance.

Using modern learning technologies, AI-enabled development tools, and data-driven evaluation methods, this role delivers relevant and impactful learning experiences.

You will have the opportunity to influence workforce capability, customer experience, and operational performance through effective learning design and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain engaging learning experiences using digital, AI-enabled, and multimedia technologies.

• Develop learning objectives, content strategies, and evaluation criteria aligned with business and learner needs.

• Create scenario-based and experiential learning solutions that support knowledge retention, skill development, and behavior change.

• Partner with stakeholders to identify performance needs, recommend effective learning solutions, and connect learning strategies to business outcomes.

• Lead learning initiatives from strategy through implementation while balancing quality, timelines, and business priorities.

• Apply best practices in learner experience, accessibility, and instructional design while ensuring integration with learning platforms.

• Define success measures and evaluate learning effectiveness using learner analytics, stakeholder feedback, and business performance data.

• Measure and communicate the impact of learning solutions on operational performance, customer experience, and workforce capability.

• Configure, maintain, and optimize learning management systems and related technologies, including content deployment, system integrations, quality assurance, and technical support.

• Monitor platform performance, learner analytics, and utilization trends to improve the learner experience, operational efficiency, adoption, and self-service.

• Develop communication and change management plans that support the successful adoption of learning solutions.

• Evaluate emerging technologies, industry best practices, and performance insights to continuously improve learning strategies and outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Experience Design, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and implementing digital learning solutions.

• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to address performance and capability needs and measuring learning effectiveness and business impact.

• Proficiency with Articulate 360 and modern eLearning authoring tools.

• Experience using AI-enabled content development tools and learning technologies.

• Working knowledge of learning management system administration, Adobe Creative Cloud, SCORM, and Microsoft Office.

• Familiarity with adaptive learning concepts, modern learning experience design methodologies, learning analytics, reporting tools, and training effectiveness measurement practices.

• Strong performance consulting, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, influencing, analytical thinking, and data interpretation skills.

• Experience with change management and project leadership, including the ability to evaluate emerging technologies and improve learning strategies.

• Ability to work within a hybrid structure based in Plymouth or Wyoming, Minnesota, with a minimum of three days in the office and two days remote; on-site days are determined by management and may vary based on business needs.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $69,000 to $91,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.  While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range. 

To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
