Full-Time Locksmith Helper - Birdville Independent School District
Wage: Contingent on certification and experience.
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00AM-4:00PM with a 1 hour break
Job Summary
This position requires a highly motivated, self-starting individual with a positive attitude who needs little oversight in the daily scope of their duties and work activities. The successful candidate possesses strong verbal and written communication skills and utilizes those with superiors, subordinates and those associated with the work. They are a problem solver. The individual is well organized and can effectively prioritize. Follow-up is second nature with this person. They maintain a strong sense of urgency concerning the scheduling and performance of the work. The person works well independently or as a productive member of a group. Candidate possesses a "safety first" mindset and models/nurtures safe working practices for themselves and staff. Must value/understand how to deliver quality and excellent customer service. Works well under pressure. They have keen time management skills. They love to be challenged and work with people towards solutions.
Job Qualifications
. High School Diploma or GED required. . Driver License required. . 2 years of Locksmith experience preferred. Experience with public school districts or colleges/universities preferred. . Bilingual is advantageous. 1 Year Knowledge of Best/SFIC Core assembly Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
. Completes the District's Keys and Lock work orders as assigned Completes Weekly State door audits as assigned Build and install best cores to fit the needs of Campus Administration. Install and adjust Door closures and Panic devices as needed. Install appropriate door signage as assigned by Department lead. Collaborates closely with the Locksmith Lead regarding routine maintenance as well as preventive maintenance. . Demonstrates quality customer service daily. . Is committed to working safely at all times. ay collaborate with the Department's Compliance Specialist Regarding ADA compliance. May be assigned 1-2 helpers by the Department Lead to assist with completing work order assignments. . Uses work order system to communicate and process tasks till completion. Gathers materials and tools necessary to complete work orders.
General Job Duties and Responsibilities
. May interact with department staff, head custodian, building administrator, vendors and contractors occasionally. . Coordinates building systems and maintenance work with other departmental functions to ensure quality customer service in the district. . Uses department's work order system to manage productivity and efficiency of facility repairs and daily operations. Tracks work orders and ensures that the work is completed in a timely manner. . May assist in ordering in house supplies, equipment and materials. Ensures products are safe to use and a proper inventory is maintained. . Accepts other responsibilities as assigned. Attends all required meetings. . Works on special projects. . Performs other duties as assigned.

This candidate must demonstrate knowledge of the job. Skilled in oral and written communications. This individual possesses the ability to utilize computers and associated software/hardware, common to the industry. Possesses excellent people skills. Experienced in the motivational leadership of staff and managing of work schedules. Requires reading, mathematical and written language abilities. Tools/Equipment Used: Hand Tools, Power Tools, measuring tools, Testing Tools, Welding Tools, Ladders, Painting Tools, Cutting Tools. Posture: Sits, stands, walks, bends, and twists on a daily basis. Motion: Kneels, crouches, squats, climbs and lifts several times per week. Lifting: Lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently lifts up to 35 pounds. Environment: Location of job may be in the office, shop, warehouse, vehicle, outdoors, on roofs, in crawl spaces, above ceilings and below floors. Is frequently exposed to dirt, dust, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, wetness/humidity, darkness or poor lighting and extreme temperatures. Is periodically exposed to mechanical, chemical, electrical and fire hazards. Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
