JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant II will offer support to the Accounting, Finance and Operations team. The Staff II Accountant will work with a degree of independence in performing accounting and financial activities for the company. The Staff Accountant II will provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing balance sheet and P&L accounts and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. This position will also act as a liaison with Managers and Executives to improve accounting procedures.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Reconcile Revenue and COGS for different divisions monthly
- Provide variance reports for Revenue, COGS, and SG&A to the Accounting Manager and assist in research and resolution
- Review general & administrative costs for accuracy and research variances
- Respond to correspondence and inquiries related to sales tax
- Assist in gathering documentation for annual financial audit
- Contribute to the analysis and preparation of ad-hoc reports for management
- Participate in the close process by preparing month end journal entries
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance Field
- Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in an accounting role
- Must have clear and thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong communication, written, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of NetSuite and PowerBI
- Detail orientated and able to meet deadlines
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
