Position Summary
Responsible for safely transporting patients and clinical equipment throughout all service areas of the hospital. Delivers, picks up, organizes, stores, cleans and maintains equipment used in patient transport and patient care. Provides excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.As a Patient Equipment Transport Services Technician at MultiCare, you will collaborate with nursing staff, hone your decision-making capabilities, and enjoy daily variety and problem-solving opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- You will provide safe and timely transport of patients, beds, oxygen, supplies and equipment throughout the facility.
Responsible for assisting clinical personnel in transferring patients to and or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs, stretchers, gurneys and all other patient transport equipment.
Responsible to respond to patient fall codes by transporting patient lift equipment and assisting nursing staff, as required.
Maintains clinical equipment by adhering to manufacturers recommended cleaning protocols.
Partner with a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and solid decision-making abilities.
Effectively prioritize and apply organization and flexibility to your work duties.
Delivers supplies and equipment to requesting departments, obtaining confirmation of receipt for item delivered, and assist the department with unloading of items.
Responsible for the collection of soiled equipment from around the facility, following established infection prevention guidelines.
Responsible for distribution and cleaning of clinical equipment, also set’s PAR levels on clinical floors.
Assist/supports ordering and discharge of rental clinical equipment.
Responsible for maintaining accurate clinical rental equipment logs or documentation.
Participates in all phases of equipment recalls and conversions throughout the facilities, locates and secures equipment and processes according to operational procedures or manufacturer's instructions.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment in the clean equipment room and other supply chain designated areas, to include keeping those areas free of fire and safety hazards.
Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Current BLS Certification
Successful completion of in-house training program on patient lift and mobility within 6 months of placement in job
One (1) year of previous transport or related healthcare experience preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.87 - $33.25 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
