The Impact You’ll Make in this Role 


The Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance, repair, calibration, and commissioning of equipment while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role coordinates with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics/service providers, support & provide guidance on the implementation of MedSurg service model, manages spare parts inventory, maintains service documentation & reporting and drives continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

Equipment Service & Maintenance
•    Coordinate and support equipment repair, troubleshooting, calibration, preventive maintenance, and commissioning activities.
•    Develop and maintain equipment service schedules to ensure optimal equipment uptime and reliability.
•    Monitor equipment performance and work with service providers to resolve technical issues promptly.
•    Report device-related complaints to the Complaint Handling Team.
Quality & Compliance
•    Implement Quality Control (QC) and cleaning procedures through service providers /Distributors)
•    Ensure all service activities comply with applicable SOPs, Work Instructions, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
•    Maintain complete and accurate service, maintenance, calibration, and quality records.
•    Support internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
Distributor & Vendor Management
•    Coordinate and monitor service activities performed by Distributor partners.
•    Ensure distributors adhere to company SOPs, quality standards, and service requirements.
•    Manage certification and calibration of service tools used by internal teams and external service providers.
•    Conduct periodic reviews of service performance and compliance.
•    Conduct periodic training for service providers (4PL) team. 
Inventory & Procurement
•    Manage spare parts inventory to support repair and maintenance activities.
•    Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of critical spare parts.
•    Manage parts procurement and purchase requests through Ariba.
•    Coordinate with suppliers and service providers (4PL) to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Safety & Confidentiality
•    Ensure all service activities are conducted in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
•    Promote a zero-non-compliance safety culture.
•    Maintain strict confidentiality of company, customer, and product information.
Continuous Improvement & Project Management
•    Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement corrective and preventive actions.
•    Prepare service reports for the Service Manager.
•    Support any Medsurg related service tasks as assigned by Service Manager.


Required Experience & Qualification:

•  Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field. 
•  English speaking and writing are a mandatory requirement.
•  3+ years of experience in equipment servicing, field service, technical support, or maintenance engineering. 
•  Experience in medical devices, laboratory equipment, or Hospital biomedical department is preferred. 
•  Familiarity with quality systems, preventive maintenance, calibration, and regulatory compliance requirements. 
•  Experience with SAP / Oracle or equivalent ERP systems is an add advantage.
