Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as FSO for multiple Facility Clearances (FCLs) within the SMX security program in compliance with the 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other client-specific requirements.
- Serve as point of contact and develop and maintain positive working relationships with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and client-specific security.
- Develop, maintain, and implement standard operating procedures and standard practices and policies to ensure compliance.
- Manage and process personnel security clearances (initial, reinvestigations) utilizing DISS and NBIS systems to include records management in SIMS.
- Develop, conduct, and track required in-house training and briefings in support of the industrial security program, including initial, annual refresher, foreign travel, courier, derivative classification, NATO, OPSEC, and other client-specific trainings.
- Assist with developing and maintaining the SMX Insider Threat Program.
- Conduct annual security self-inspections to include documenting and tracking follow up actions.
- Participate in DCSA and client inspections/assessments.
- Process SCI requests utilizing ACCS and follow-through with indoctrination coordination.
- Process Visit Authorizations utilizing DISS and ACCS as needed
- Prepare and review DD254s and maintain program security files.
- Submit CAC applications and manage CAC issuances and renewals for multiple programs.
- Investigate and document Security Incidents/Violations and report to DCSA via DISS as required.
- Prepare and submit system access forms such as DD2875s.
- Fulfill tickets in the ServiceNow environment to respond to employee needs and security requirements.
- Submit reports to Government agencies as required by the 32 CFR Part 117 (counterintelligence concerns, suspicious contacts, espionage reports, etc.)
- Stay current with Industrial Security by continuing training, attending seminars, and being an active member of the Industrial Security community (local ISACs, NCMS, etc.)
- Maintain FCL records in NISS.
- Provide proposal support as needed.
- Support recruiting efforts by providing clearance verifications as needed.
- Manage SPOT LOAs
- Support classified discussions/meetings
- Processes incoming and outgoing classified shipments, documents, and materials.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports as needed to SMX Security management and clients for contract compliance.
- Serve as Alternate COMSEC Custodian
- Maintain FCL safeguarding to include managing safes and locks to include use of SF700s, 701s, and 702s.
- Maintain Physical Security with badging, alarm codes, and maintaining/coordinating new badge readers/alarms as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years’ experience as a Facility Security Officer, Assistant Facility Security Officer or similar role.
- Completed (or ability to complete within the first six months of employment) CDSE Possessing Curriculum
- Fluent with DISS, NISS, NBIS, SWFT, and SIMS programs/systems
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to exercise mature judgment and confidentiality.
- Ability to work well alone and as part of a team.

- ACCS and C-CURE system experience
