Description
Kahut Waste Services, a Waste Connections company, seeks a safety-conscious and reliable Class A CDL Driver to join our team.
Schedule is Monday - Friday
Start time is 5:30 AM and goes until the route is completed.
Starting wage is $36.00/HR
Safety Sensitive: YES
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a tractor-trailer on a dedicated local route using manual transmission equipment to haul waste to Wasco Landfill
- Opportunity to receive training on Roll-Off manual transmission trucks
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires
- Physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
- Maintain courteous and professional interactions with customers
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
- Climb in and out of the truck cab up to 40+ times per day
- Work in all outdoor weather conditions, including wet and humid environments, with exposure to fumes and vibrations
- Moderate noise level
- Adhere to all safety protocols to mitigate physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of Class A driving experience is required, including mandatory experience with manual transmissions and 53' trailers.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Stable work history (at least 2 years in most recent position)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Clean driving record and compliance with DOT regulations (49 CFR 383.51)
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the job
- Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections
