SUMMARY
The Maintenance Systems Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance systems and processes utilized to drive improved maintenance productivity, efficiency and cost performance through increased utilization, visibility, knowledge sharing, training and continuous improvement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
System Development and Implementation:
Design, develop, and implement maintenance systems and procedures to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify maintenance system requirements and align them with organizational goals.
Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging technologies and best practices in maintenance management systems.
Ensure site alignment with corporate changes to system and upgrades.
Data Management and Analysis:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of maintenance-related information, including equipment history, work orders, spare parts inventory, and maintenance costs.
Actively participate in annual budgeting process, forecasting, and cost reporting functions.
Analyze maintenance data and generate reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and areas for improvement.
Act as the site’s Work Management KPI subject matter expert.
Utilize data-driven insights to develop strategies for optimizing maintenance processes and reducing equipment failures.
Continuous Improvement and Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the maintenance department and develop strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to implement standardized procedures and best practices.
Attend and actively participate in Work Management Process meetings providing input and feedback to drive identifying shared resource needs and areas of improvement.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with maintenance standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Training and Support:
Provide training and support to maintenance personnel on the effective use of maintenance systems, tools, and software.
Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on maintenance processes, procedures, and best practices.
Develop training materials, user manuals, and documentation to facilitate the adoption of maintenance systems and ensure consistent knowledge transfer.
Drive standardization across the sites related to Work Management activities.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
A minimum of 5 years of Operational and/or Maintenance experience or engineering qualification Diploma/Degree in the appropriate discipline desirable.
Strong knowledge of maintenance, planning and scheduling requirements and KPI management.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with comprehensive SAP experience and expertise.
Proven self-starter with ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement.
Proven experience in maintenance management, systems implementation, and process improvement.
Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems, such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety practices related to maintenance operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
