About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Student Recruitment Operations and Governance Manager to drive governance excellence, outcomes measurement and program performance evaluation across the University's Domestic Recruitment and Access team. As part of the Domestic leadership team, you will lead the development of reporting frameworks, governance processes and outcome measurement practices and interpret recruitment and outreach data, to make informed recommendations to optimise future engagement activities.
The role provides operational management across significant domestic recruitment programs including government-funded initiatives and reporting requirements, the University’s Student Ambassador program and the operational planning and performance monitoring and continuous improvement of the team.
You will utilise your leadership and people management expertise to lead the delivery of exceptional prospective student experiences by empowering a Student Ambassador workforce that is central to the University’s domestic recruitment and engagement success. The program serves as the University's frontline recruitment team, delivering high-quality engagement experiences across student recruitment and widening participation activities.
Key responsibilities
Lead the governance, reporting and evaluation of student recruitment, outreach and widening participation initiatives.
Develop and implement reporting frameworks, operational processes and best-practice governance protocols.
Analyse recruitment and engagement data, providing strategic insights and recommendations to inform decision making.
Oversee the Student Ambassador program, ensuring effective workforce planning, operational delivery and continuous improvement.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across faculties and professional service units to support recruitment and engagement objectives.
Contribute to operational planning, resource management and key strategic initiatives while responding effectively to emerging priorities.
About you
You are a strategic and adaptable leader who enjoys balancing operational delivery with analysis and continuous improvement. You thrive in complex environments, can confidently manage competing priorities and are passionate about using insights, systems and people leadership to achieve meaningful outcomes. To be successful in this role you will bring:
Experience leading reporting, governance, evaluation or operational improvement functions within a large and complex organisation.
Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and turn insights into practical recommendations.
Leadership and management experience, with a record of building high-performing teams and delivering exceptional customer and stakeholder experiences.
Experience in supervising, coaching and developing staff, leading high-performing customer-focused teams, and managing a broad range of people management and employment matters.
Experience in the higher education sector, with a comprehensive understanding of the strategic issues shaping the sector and their impact on equity-related policy and program development.
Excellent negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution and relationship management skills, together with a high level of tact, diplomacy, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent time and workload management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and achieve outcomes.
A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC), or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
