Title : Logistics Specialist.
Location : Bangalore, India.
We are seeking an experienced inbound transportation specialist to manage and coordinate the movement of goods and materials from key suppliers to our manufacturing sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that inbound transportation operations run efficiently, cost-effectively, and with a high level of service. The inbound transportation specialist will work closely with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of goods, optimize transportation costs, and improve service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute inbound transportation operations, including managing carrier relationships, scheduling deliveries, and tracking shipments.
Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, global logistics, and site operations, to ensure alignment of inbound transportation activities with overall supply chain objectives.
Communicate with carriers and suppliers to coordinate shipments, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations and laws.
Monitor inbound transportation metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address issues.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of inbound transportation-related documentation, including purchase orders, bills of lading, POD’s, and customs documents.
Assist with the management of inbound transportation budgets and forecasts.
Provide support to other transportation-related activities, such as customs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in inbound transportation management or related field.
In-depth knowledge of transportation modes, carriers, and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Proficiency in transportation management systems and other relevant software.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of international Movement with knowledge of Inco Terms, HTS, Tariff etc. having experience in US imports.
Candidate should be able to run and lead end‑to‑end activities under the Center of Excellence.
