Part-Time Custodian

1. Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas.
2. Trash Removal: Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins, replace liners as needed, and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
3. Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures, and replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
4. Floor Care: Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and buff floors using appropriate cleaning equipment and materials to maintain a clean and polished appearance.
5. Window Cleaning: Clean interior and exterior windows, glass doors, and partitions using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools.
6. Surface Cleaning: Wipe down surfaces, furniture, and fixtures with disinfectant cleaners to remove dirt, stains, and germs.
7. Specialized Cleaning: Perform specialized cleaning tasks as assigned, such as carpet shampooing, upholstery cleaning, and high-traffic area maintenance.
8. Equipment Care: Clean and maintain custodial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and cleaning carts, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
9. Supply Management: Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumable items as needed, and report any supply shortages or equipment malfunctions to the Custodial Supervisor.
10. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing custodial duties, including the safe handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals and adherence to safety guidelines.
11. Reporting: Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility damage to the Custodial Supervisor or appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
12. Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow custodial staff and other city employees to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations, assisting with special projects or tasks as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant custodial experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
• Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials, as well as safety regulations and procedures related to custodial operations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, work independently with minimal supervision, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift and carry heavy objects, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Basic communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A CJIS BACKGROUND CHECK TO WORK IN SECURED FACILITIES
