Job Description Summary

The Spatial Data Manager is responsible for the strategic administration, governance, analysis, and optimization of space, occupancy, and workplace data across the client's real estate portfolio. Serving as the primary subject matter expert for CAD and CAFM technologies, this role ensures spatial data accurately reflects the built environment while providing actionable insights that support workplace planning, portfolio performance, operational efficiency, and informed business decision-making.
Working in partnership with Occupancy Planning, Project Management, Move Management, Facilities Management, and client stakeholders, the Spatial Data Manager drives data integrity, reporting excellence, technology optimization, and continuous process improvement. This role translates complex spatial and occupancy data into meaningful business intelligence that enables effective space utilization, enhances workplace experiences, and supports client objectives.
The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, analytical rigor, business acumen, and consultative partnership skills to deliver measurable value through data-driven workplace solutions.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Space Data Governance & Management

  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the client's space management platform, CAD environment, and occupancy databases.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve standards for space data governance, drawing management, naming conventions, quality assurance, and reporting consistency.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of all space, occupancy, utilization, and allocation data.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality reviews to validate floor plans, occupancy records, business allocations, and utilization metrics.
  • Maintain alignment between workplace changes, facility modifications, project activity, and corresponding system records.
  • Identify and mitigate data integrity risks while driving continuous improvements in data quality and operational processes.

CAD & CAFM Platform Administration

  • Maintain and manage CAD drawings and digital workplace records to accurately reflect workplace layouts, furniture configurations, occupancy assignments, and spatial attributes.
  • Administer CAFM/IWMS platforms, including user access, system configuration, reporting tools, workflow management, and data controls.
  • Coordinate data updates resulting from moves, adds, changes, workplace transformations, renovations, and capital projects.
  • Partner with technology and operational teams to support integrations, automation initiatives, and system enhancements.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology improvements that strengthen reporting capabilities, improve user experience, and enhance operational efficiency.

Reporting, Analytics & Business Intelligence

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver recurring and ad hoc reporting related to occupancy, utilization, vacancy, allocation, capacity, and workplace performance.
  • Analyze spatial and occupancy data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and efficiencies across the portfolio.
  • Support strategic planning efforts through scenario modeling, forecasting, capacity analysis, and workplace analytics.
  • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations that support client objectives and business decision-making.
  • Maintain dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting frameworks that measure portfolio performance and workplace effectiveness.
  • Leverage data insights to support space optimization, improve utilization, and enhance overall workplace performance.

Workplace Planning & Portfolio Support

  • Partner with Occupancy Planning, Move Management, Project Management and Facility Management teams to support workplace planning initiatives and organizational changes.
  • Ensure space allocation methodologies are consistently applied and aligned with client standards and operational requirements.
  • Provide spatial analysis and planning support for growth initiatives, workplace transformations, restacking projects, and occupancy planning activities.
  • Support portfolio planning efforts by providing accurate data, reporting, and recommendations that align workplace solutions with business needs.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve space efficiency, workplace functionality, employee experience, and operational performance.
  • Support cross-functional needs in occupancy planning, move management, decommissioning of space and facilities operations during periods of low space management activity.

Client Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for space data-related inquiries, reporting requests, and system support.
  • Build trusted partnerships with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver value-added solutions.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and performance trends to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deliver training and guidance on space management systems, reporting tools, data standards, and best practices.
  • Influence stakeholders through data-driven insights and recommendations that support business priorities and workplace goals.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Management, Space Planning, Real Estate, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience supporting corporate real estate, facilities management, workplace strategy, occupancy planning, space management, or related workplace services functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing CAD drawings, CAFM/IWMS platforms, occupancy databases, and workplace data within a corporate environment.
  • Experience supporting medium-to-large office portfolios and multiple stakeholder groups preferred.
  • Experience translating workplace data into actionable business recommendations and operational improvements preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with CAFM/IWMS platforms, including Eptura, Archibus, FAMIS360, Planon, Manhattan, Blue Beam or similar technologies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence and data visualization tools preferred.
  • Strong understanding of space allocation methodologies, occupancy planning, utilization measurement, and workplace analytics.
  • Experience in project management in support of fit-up, moves and decommissioning for commercial office locations
  • Knowledge of data governance practices and reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex spatial and occupancy data.
  • Experience with AI tools such as CoPilot, Claude or ChatGPT

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 68,000.00 - $80,000.00
