First Commerce Credit Union is seeking an experienced and results-driven Collections Manager to lead our Collections team and help strengthen the financial well-being of our members while supporting the credit union's continued growth.

What You'll Do:
As Collections Manager, you'll oversee the strategy, operations, and performance of the Collections Department while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and FCCU standards. You'll:
- Lead and develop a high-performing collections team focused on delivering exceptional member service while reducing delinquency and losses.
- Direct all collection operations, including account extensions, modifications, repossessions, foreclosures, bankruptcies, loss mitigation, and recovery efforts.
- Develop and execute collection strategies that drive portfolio performance while preserving valuable member relationships.
- Analyze department performance, delinquency trends, and loss metrics to identify opportunities and improve results.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, NCUA guidelines, bankruptcy laws, and FCCU policies.
- Partner with Lending, Finance, Member Service, and executive leadership to achieve organizational goals.
- Manage third-party collection agencies, legal partners, and service providers to maximize effectiveness and recovery outcomes.
- Resolve complex member situations and operational challenges with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Prepare and present performance reports, recommendations, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible collections or default management experience.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience managing teams and driving performance.
- Experience with secured and unsecured consumer lending collections; real estate and commercial loan collections experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of collections regulations, bankruptcy processes, loss mitigation strategies, and recovery practices.
- Proven ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
