The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Accounting Center of Excellence (ACE) in Dublin as an Accounting Manager. The ACE is responsible for accounting across Adobe's international statutory entities, monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting, local statutory compliance, and annual audits. You will lead a team of accounting professionals, own the monthly close and balance sheet reconciliation process for your area, and be a key partner to our ACE operations team in India and our corporate accounting team in the US. Alongside team leadership, you will hold responsibility for statutory accounting and audit delivery for a portfolio of Adobe entities, and will be a driving force behind process improvement and automation initiatives as the function scales.
What you'll do
Manage a team of accounting professionals, setting clear goals and providing ongoing feedback through Adobe's Check-In approach.
Own the monthly and quarterly general ledger close process, ensuring transactions are recorded timely, accurately, and in line with US GAAP and local GAAP.
Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team, including accruals, fixed assets, payroll, and revenue control accounts.
Oversee preparation and on-time filing of local statutory returns, including VAT and government statistical returns.
Manage preparation of annual Statutory Financial Statements and lead the year-end audit relationship with external auditors through to close-out.
Ensure adherence to SOX and internal control procedures, and support internal and external audits.
Partner cross-functionally with Tax, Treasury, Credit, and other Adobe accounting teams to build strong working relationships and ensure service levels are met.
Drive process improvement, automation, and scalability initiatives across the function.
Support integration of AR/AP and accounting processes when new acquisitions take place.
Provide accounting support for new office locations within the region as they are added.
Travel to office locations as required.
Other ad hoc projects and analyses as required.
What you need to succeed
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA), or European equivalent.
3+ years post-qualification experience in a similar financial management and reporting role, including direct people management experience.
Proven track record managing, developing, and motivating a team of accounting professionals.
Experience of working in a diverse, fast-paced multinational environment; software industry experience an advantage.
Working knowledge of US GAAP; exposure to SEC regulations and SAP a definite advantage.
European language skills and European accounting experience an advantage.
Familiarity with systems such as Ariba, Concur, and OneSource an advantage.
Advanced Excel skills; Power BI, Blackline, or Tableau experience a plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior management and non-finance organizations.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Assertive, efficient, and organised, with the ability to take ownership of projects and work to strict deadlines in a fluid, evolving environment.
