Art Director – 3D Mobile Games

Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and experienced Art Director to lead the visual direction of our 3D mobile games. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for quality, a deep understanding of 3D game art, and the ability to lead and inspire a team of artists.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall visual style, art direction, and quality standards for 3D mobile games.
• Lead, mentor, and provide creative direction to 3D artists and other art team members.
• Review and provide feedback on characters, environments, models, textures, lighting, animations, VFX, and UI.
• Develop and maintain style guides, mood boards, visual references, and art guidelines.
• Collaborate with Game Designers, Developers, Product, and other teams to translate game concepts into compelling visuals.
• Ensure consistency and quality across all game assets and content.
• Ensure artwork meets mobile platform performance and technical requirements.
• Research industry trends, competitor games, and emerging visual styles to continuously improve the game's visual quality.
• Manage art quality throughout the development cycle, from concept and prototyping to final production and launch.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in 3D game art, with experience in mobile games.
• Proven experience as an Art Director, Lead Artist, or similar creative leadership role.
• Strong understanding of 3D modeling, texturing, materials, lighting, animation, and VFX.
• Strong understanding of composition, color theory, visual storytelling, and game aesthetics.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and providing feedback to artists.
• Strong portfolio showcasing 3D game art and visual direction.
• Good understanding of Unity and mobile game art pipelines.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Tools

Experience with tools such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, Unity.

Nice to Have

• Experience working on casual, simulation, puzzle, or hyper-casual mobile games.
• Understanding of mobile optimization, asset budgets, shaders, and performance constraints.
• Experience with LiveOps and post-launch game content.
• Knowledge of current AI-assisted art and content creation tools.
