Summary of Role 

The VP of Payments Strategy will lead Broadview’s Cards business, including the products, providers, platforms and services that process more than $5B in annual volume and support hundreds of thousands of consumers and businesses in Broadview’s footprint. This leader owns the Cards P&L, related vendor platforms/services/relationships, ongoing platform health, strategic planning, and disciplined execution of business growth, new capabilities, enhancements, and new solutions across our Card Processing and Network platforms. The role also provides clear reporting and actionable insight into the KPIs that matter most to performance, growth, risk management, and long-term value creation.

As a key enterprise leader, the Vice President of Payments Strategy will support partner/platform/service/product selection, solution design, and delivery roadmap decisions and execution across critical segments, including e-Commerce, Operations, Finance, Commercial Banking, Member Experience, Marketing, and Lending. Success will require structured thinking, sound judgment, rigorous execution, and a strong ownership mindset. As Vice President of Payments Strategy, you will serve as the voice of the customer while developing profitable products that deliver meaningful value. Drawing on strong business acumen and a deep understanding of what drives product success, you will guide the launch of new products, campaigns, and capabilities; capture critical feedback; and ensure consistently outstanding client experiences. With a clear focus on financial growth, wallet share growth, operating discipline, and enterprise-wide strategy, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs, strengthen the business, and exceed expectations.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong growth mindset, with accountability for business P&L performance, financial outcomes, customer satisfaction, and long-term value creation.

  • Apply strong strategic judgment and analytical rigor to drive sound decision-making independently and in partnership with executive leadership.

  • Communicate complex strategies, plans, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior executives and cross-functional partners.

  • Partner with executive leaders to define the program delivery strategy and platform vision for Broadview’s Cards business, with a clear focus on customer value, business growth, and execution discipline.

  • Build, implement, and own the planning processes that produce a detailed payments product investment roadmap designed to maximize business performance, financial returns, and achievement of key KPIs.

  • Prepare for and lead executive leadership forums focused on product delivery roadmap decisions, prioritization tradeoffs, investment choices, and accountability for outcomes.

  • Develop clear, compelling presentations that communicate strategic decisions, business goals, and roadmap priorities that supports Broadview’s Enterprise Strategy.

  • Disciplined execution of tactics, strategies and business priorities.

  • Create process documentation that defines the steps, inputs, preparation requirements, ownership, and timelines required at each stage of the strategic planning process.

  • Use advanced Excel capabilities, including complex formulas, modeling, and visualizations, to analyze data and generate repeatable insights that inform strategic decisions.

  • Manage multiple priorities and workstreams at the same time, demonstrating strong project management, sound prioritization, and a bias for execution and outcomes.

  • Promote a team-first mindset by leading within the team, collaborating across the business, and helping colleagues move toward shared goals with urgency and clarity.

Minimum Job Qualifications:  

  • 8+ years of relevant leadership experience, including at least five years in product ownership, corporate strategy, consulting, or a closely related discipline.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Successful track record in hands-on ownership of Cards and Payments P&L.

  • Proven ability to lead disciplined strategic planning processes, including the development of near-term and long-term roadmaps within a Payments product environment.

  • Proven ability to execute on business priorities and drive measurable business growth.

  • Experience supporting the delivery lifecycle for payments products, with a focus on aligning product strategy, platform capabilities, and business objectives in the payments domain.

  • Advanced PowerPoint/Excel/AI skills, with the ability to design, build, and deliver compelling executive-level presentations that clearly communicate complex business strategies, decisions, and tradeoffs.

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis, to extract insights, evaluate opportunities, and inform strategic decision-making in a repeatable and scalable way.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior-level stakeholders, lead productive discussions, and drive alignment around priorities, investments, and execution plans.

  • Strong attention to detail in designing, documenting, and implementing processes, with clear ownership of each step, input, timeline, and outcome.

  • Proven ability to operate collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, foster cooperation across functions, and take on the work required to help the team and broader organization succeed.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, making effective tradeoffs to meet ambitious strategic goals.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies, plans, and recommendations to a broad range of stakeholders.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Successful experience as a Bank/Credit Union P&L owner, in a consulting firm or internal strategy function, with a strong understanding of the Payments and Cards industry best practices, structured problem solving, and modern strategy development methods.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, complex organization, influencing across functions and levels to drive alignment and results.

  • Experience with, or strong working knowledge of, Payments technology product delivery and the Cards Issuing industry is highly preferred.

  • MBA or other graduate degree in a related field preferred.

Compensation: $180,000-$200,000, plus a competitive benefits package
