Description
Department: Media Activation, Social
Role: Social Media Manager
Location: United States-Remote
Job Description
The Social Media Manager is a hybrid strategy and execution role supporting the development, activation, optimization, analysis, and reporting of paid social campaigns across platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Reddit. Reporting into the Senior Director of Social, this role partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure paid social efforts align with each client's marketing strategy and business objectives, moving fluidly between planning and execution based on day-to-day business demands. This is a highly analytical position: the Social Media Manager works with large volumes of media data, identifies what is driving performance, and translates those findings into clear, actionable recommendations. This role requires working during U.S. East Coast business hours.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Support the development and implementation of paid social strategies that achieve client business goals across awareness, traffic, engagement, and conversion/lead generation.
- Contribute to the translation of client objectives into actionable media plans, including platform mix, audience research and segmentation, budget allocation, flighting, and measurement frameworks.
- Assist in building and maintaining campaign budgets, helping ensure efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment (ROI).
Campaign Execution & Optimization
- Assist with the build, launch, and day-to-day management of paid social campaigns across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Reddit, including targeting, audience implementation, budgets, bidding strategies, and creative assignments.
- Support campaign launches and conduct pre- and post-launch quality assurance reviews, validating pixels, UTMs, conversion tracking, and reporting frameworks to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Help monitor pacing, delivery, and key performance indicators, surfacing optimization opportunities across audiences, bids, budgets, creative, and targeting and implementing changes as directed.
- Help design and execute A/B and test-and-learn initiatives, flexing across planning and execution needs and stepping in wherever additional support is needed.
Data Analysis, Measurement & Reporting
- Analyze large volumes of media data across platforms, third-party audience partners, and analytics tools to identify trends, performance drivers, and optimization opportunities.
- Structure, reconcile, and QA data from platform exports, reporting dashboards, and web analytics, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
- Own recurring campaign reports, scorecards, dashboards, test-and-learn analyses, and recaps, synthesizing complex data sets into clear performance narratives.
- Use data to inform forward-looking decisions on audience mix, budget allocation, creative strategy, and platform selection.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Partner closely with Client Services, Project Management, Strategy, Analytics, Creative, and AdOps to ensure campaigns are executed successfully and on schedule, communicating updates, performance trends, and operational needs clearly.
- Stay current on platform updates and best practices, lead testing of new audience providers, ad products, and measurement capabilities, and contribute to SOPs and process improvements.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 4 years' experience in paid social as a Social Media Strategist, Paid Campaigns Manager, or similar role, with hands-on ownership of both planning and in-platform execution.
- Proven track record operating paid social at scale across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Reddit, driving brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing large volumes of media data—pulling, structuring, and reconciling multiple sources—and translating it into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets) and proficiency in reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker Studio, or Google Analytics, plus native platform reporting suites.
- Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and budget management experience, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven recommendations clearly and work independently or as part of a team during U.S. East Coast business hours.
Preferred
- Experience across other biddable channels, including programmatic and paid search platforms such as DV360, The Trade Desk, PulsePoint, DeepIntent, Google Ads, and Bing.
- Pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated-industry marketing experience.
- Experience with healthcare audience providers such as Swoop, Symphony Health, IQVIA, Crossix, and BranchLab.
- Familiarity with additional data analysis tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Google BigQuery.
Success in This Role
- Moves seamlessly between strategy and execution based on business priorities, with strong ownership of campaign delivery and results.
- Uses data as the foundation for every recommendation, consistently turning large data sets into clear insights and strategic direction.
- Maintains a high standard of quality assurance and attention to detail across execution and reporting, while building expertise across the broader biddable media landscape.
- Embodies Underscore's core values of Confident Leadership, Top-Notch Expertise, Mindful Innovation, Cross-Functional Collaboration, and Assuming Positive Intent.
